Nine Billion tons of litter is dumped into the ocean every year.
50% Percent of all littered items are cigarette butts.
Community economy and quality of life suffer. The presence of litter in a community takes a toll on quality of life,
property values, and housing prices.
Litter also has environmental consequences including serious
environmental contamination.
What to do!1. Individuals are much more likely to
litter into a littered environment … so choose NOT to litter.
2. Choose not to smoke for the environments sake and for your own
health!3. Volunteer in your community to help
prevent and cleanup litter!
Help fight this vicious cycle!
