3. The cortex thinks about the info and makes sense of it (e.g. “ok, this is a….”) But in the case of Trauma that signal is sent to the Amgydala where a flood of hormones release create emotion and action.

4. This is the “Amygdala Hijack” where the thinking part of the brain is bypassed, the alarm is switched on – Amygdala reacts based on previously stored patterns / experiences.
