• Height, width, and depth should be consistent in all views

• Construction Line – Thin & faint; used to start

drawing (box-in lines)

• Object Line – Darker & thicker; show outlines of

features

• Hidden Feature Line – Short & evenly spaced

shows the center of holes

• Extension Line – Thin; shows size of object and

parts

• Block in the front, top, and right side views – Use faint construction lines

– Allow room in between each view for dimensioning

– Use extension lines to keep Depth, Width, and Height consistent

• Add detail and draw features – Use faint construction lines

– Use extension lines to maintain position of features

• Finish Drawing – Strengthen object lines

– Erase construction lines
