RAMZAN-The Importance
• The month of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a holy month for Muslims all over the world

• This month is considered a gift from God in the form of mercy and forgiveness.
RAMZAN-The Importance• During this time Muslims feel they
can get in touch with their inner selves, strengthen their faith and in a certain way, come closer to God.

• The most distinctive feature of this sacred month is the concept of fasting, which is the third pillar of Islam.

• The HOLY QURAN was given by GOD only in this holy month.
RAMZAN-The Practice• Fasting normally begins at the break
of dawn and ends at sunset.
RAMZAN-The Practice• During this time, Muslims are
supposed to abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and sex.
RAMZAN-The Practice• The entire idea of fasting is
definitely not to starve oneself but to be on a different spiritual plane altogether.
RAMZAN-The Practice• When one is not distracted by
physical needs, as during fasting, one finds more time to devote and submit oneself to Allah.

• The health benefits of fasting are many.
RAMZAN- Benefits• It has been proved that during fasting,
the body gets a chance to develop its immune system and rid itself of the toxins that have accumulated.

• It has also been related to a longer life expectancy.

inculcate in themselves, the spirit of sacrifice because it is in the name of God, that they willingly abstain from natural desires.

helping those who are less fortunate.
RAMZAN- Benefits• Not being able to consume food or
water for a small period of time makes one realize the importance of having easy and constant access to meals and the plight of the poor.
RAMZAN- Benefits• In everyday life, one does not give
much thought to what poverty stricken people go through when they are in doubt about whether or not they will get their next meal.
RAMZAN- Benefits• In all its essence, Ramadan is the
best time to give gifts in the form of Zakat and charity. Zakat is also another essential pillar of Islam.
RAMZAN- Benefits• The concept of Zakat is to basically
purify one’s wealth by giving to those who have not been as much blessed.
ALL IN ONE• The Holy month of Ramzan gives an
opportunity to fulfill all the five duties of Islam completely EVEN FOR NOT SO RICH.
ALL IN ONE• By observing fast– People affirm their faith in Allah and His
Messenger. FIRST DUTY
ALL IN ONE• The five time compulsory prayers are
practised without fail. SECOND DUTY
ALL IN ONE• Fasting for 30 days - THIRD DUTY
ALL IN ONE• ZAKATH -2.5% of annual income-
Giving Alms compulsorily- FOURTH DUTY
ALL IN ONE– Observing Ethikaf – praying in total
confinement in the mosque-in the last 10 days of Ramzan is equal to Hajj for poor people who cannot afford to go on a Hajj Pilgrimage. FIFTH DUTY
ALL IN ONE• One full month’s disciplined practise
is only a training for a pious person to be religious and God fearing and to realize all his religious commitments and fulfill it throughout the year.
EID MUBARAK- HAPPY EID
Thirty days of fasting culminates in the celebration of Eid- ul-Fithr.End of FASTING and time for FEASTING.
EID-UL-FITHRCelebration means ensuring that nobody in the neigbourhood starves on that day. We must distribute new clothes, sweets and rich food to all our neighbours, especialy the poor.
EID PRAYERSpecial prayers are conducted on the day of Eid in all the Mosques. After the prayers people exchange greetings among themselves.
