The smile principle is revolutionary. The Visumax femtosecond laser creates a small lens (lenticule).

This lenticule is removed through a small access point. The corneal upper layers are left intact.

The 7 reasons why ReLEx smileis the future of refractive

surgery

1. No flap needs to be cut. The area of the incision is reduced to a minimum. It is no longer necessary to fold back the cornea to correct the eye.

2. Unlike in LASIK, there is no risk of shifting or displacement of the flap as a result of rubbing or other physical contact.

3. The nerves responsible for tear regulation remain more or less intact. Therefore, there is less dryness of the eyes after the treatment.

4. Unlike in PRK / LASIK, there is no treatment at the ocular surface. The surgery is painless and minimally invasive.

5. The use of femtosecond technology results in outstanding predictability. 97% of eyes are within ±0.5 diopters after the treatment.

6. The procedure is fast, precise, and convenient because it sues an anatomically shaped contact glass.

7. The treatment’s effect is visible 24 hours after surgery, with visual acuity typically stabilizing completely in 6 weeks or so.

Medifocus is one of the few Carl Zeiss Reference Centres. In this way we benefit from more than 20 years of Carl Zeiss’s expertise.
