Common Recording Mistakes

• Too much motion

• Unsteady shots

• Shots too distant

• Subject not framed well

• Boring shots

Recording

Too much motion

Zooming or panning too fast or often will make the viewer’s eyes hurt.

-Hold the shot prior to pan/zoom

-Move slowly, gradually over 15 seconds

-Hold new shot for 15 seconds

Recording

Use the Close Up

Taking all shots from a distant makes the viewer feel uninvolved.

Recording

Frame Your Shots

Avoid shooting when a pole in background looks like part of the

foreground.

Pick a well-lit spot, but the light should not be behind the subject.

Clear the surrounding clutter so the background is not distracting.

Recording

Think Before You Shoot

Only shoot the essential shots, it will save you download and editing time later.

RecordingComposition

Don’t allow too much room above a person’s head. Also be sure to provide more room in

the direction the person is facing. The picture above illustrates the lack of space.
