Environment
Dorm 4 (First Floor and Second Floor).Just 2 AP (each AP 2 interfaces).Setting DD-WRT default.Channel Auto.No Authentication.
ScenarioWithout The Application 1. Connected with Old AP2. User moving to some place3. Still connected to Old AP
until the signal from Old AP disappear.
4. Disconnect from Old AP5. Scanning available AP
near user position.6. If any AP available then
making connection to the AP.
With The Application1. Connected with Old AP2. User define the AP that
available for handover we call registered AP.
3. User still Connected to the Old AP
4. If Any new AP(Signal Strength) in the registered AP better than Old AP + threshold value, Application will disconnect from the old AP and making connection to new AP.
Connectivity Change Time (Without Handover App)
Experiment for ten times walking from first floor to second floor, and vice versa
Connectivity Change Time (With HandOver App)
Each threshold value, We observe for ten times walking from first floor to second floor, and vice versa
AuthenticationI’ve tried to implement authentication phase to this application but i got some problem. So I develop simple application for calculating authentication time with WPA2 personal in the real environment.
I made the experiment for five times :Without the authentication android phone need 0.15 s(avg) for changing from the one AP to the other one.and with the authentication android phone need 0.26 s(avg)
