of history right here in NC.• This truck was a first responder to that event,

FDNY RESCUE • FDNY Rescue Companies are composed of the elite, highly and

specially trained, most experienced members of the New York Fire Department. A Rescue Company is tasked with responding to and dealing with specialized fire and rescue incidents that are beyond the scope and duties of a standard Engine or Ladder Company. Rescue Companies operate Rescue Trucks, colloquially known as "tool boxes on wheels", which carry a wide variety of specialized tools and equipment to aide in operations at technical rescues, collapse/confined space rescues, water/dive rescues, high-angle/below-grade rescues, etc. They respond to all fires within their response district as well. Rescue 1 operates in Manhattan, Rescue 2 in Brooklyn, Rescue 3 in the Bronx and north Manhattan (above 125th street), Rescue 4 in queens, and Rescue 5 in Staten Island.
