Lunch 12:30 PM to 01:30 PMLunch will be served at College Canteen on all working days

Dinner 07:30 PM to 09:00 PMThe food committee (Warden / AO/ Registrar) shall be responsible for ensuring smooth & timely operationof the mess and also verify the quality of food being served in the mess. The food committee shall ensurethat the proposed menu for the particular week / month is strictly followed and any exception has to beapproved by the hostel coordinator. The same will be notified from time to time

Residents are advised to keep their rooms clean.

Hand over room keys every day to warden to enable thesupervisor to get the rooms and toilets cleaned.

Do not carry Food to rooms.

Do not dry cloths inside the rooms.

Discipline and Regulations for ResidentsEntry and Exit timings :

For ResidentsResidents to report to the accommodation by prescribed time, before 7:00 PM (for Girls) and 08:00PM (for Boys). Students who report later than this timings will be warned and removed from theaccommodation. Fill your details in the Movement Register kept with Warden/Security whenever going out of andcoming back to the accommodation.

Wardens to check presence of all Students in the accommodation by 7:00 PM (for Girls) and 08:00

PM (for Boys).

Residents should not stay in their rooms/ absenting from classes without proper permission from

the authorities. (Warden / AO / Registrar)

For VisitorsIn the Boy’s Hostel, parents and visitors can meet the students in the Common Room/Visitor Room,Warden office from 05.00 PM to 9.00 PM only. In the Girl’s Hostel, male visitors are not allowed. However, parents are permitted to meet theirdaughters in the visitor room from 4.30 PM to 7.00 PM only.

Identity cards

Identity card will be issued to all the inmates of the hostel. They should produce their identity

cards on demand. 24

Prohibition of illegal substances / items

Residents are strictly forbidden from using personal gadgets like transistors, tape

recorder, VCR/VCD/DVD, electric iron, cookers etc.

Residents using computers are not permitted to use multimedia speakers. Violation of

this will be viewed seriously.

Residents are prohibited from consuming / possessing alcoholic drinks, drugs,

cigarettes, tobacco products or any other intoxicants inside the hostel or to enter the

hostel after consuming the same.

Possession or use of illegal substance/s is strictly prohibited.

Disciplinary actions for keeping illegal substances / items

Any Resident found consuming such thing or in a drunken state in the hostel will renderhimself liable for strict disciplinary action, including expulsion/rustication fromHostel/Institute.Any breach of these rules will invite an enquiry that will be conducted by theManagement. If the resident is found guilty, then the Management will take disciplinaryaction that it deems fit. Depending on the case, the management reserves the right to takedirect disciplinary action, amounting to even expulsion at short notice from the hostel.

Prohibition of harmful Objects / Weapons

No resident should keep any fire-arms, lethal weapons,

poisonous things or intoxicants of any kind in the Hostel.

Residents must not take law into their own hands, but must

report all disputes to the hostel Warden. All kinds of shouting,

fighting, gambling, stealing, violet knocking, maltreating or abusing

are strictly prohibited.

Disciplinary actions for keeping harmful objects / weapons

The above involvement may result in severe punishment like

heavy fine or termination from the event participation27

Discipline and Regulations for Residents

Damage to hostel property

Residents will be personally and collectively responsible for any loss/damage to the

properties and equipment and other fittings in the common halls. In case of damage to any

buildings, furniture, apparatus or other property, the loss caused to the institution shall be

recovered directly from those identified persons whenever possible. But, if persons who

cause the damage are unknown, the cost of repairing it, as may be assessed by the hostel

authorities, will be distributed equally among all the residents of such groups or

associations as may be found responsible.

Each resident should check the fittings in his room at the time of occupation and

takeover of the fittings and furniture in writing which are returnable on vacation of the

room. Any loss or damage will be borne by the concerned boarder or boarders.

Disciplinary actions for damaging hostel Property

Damage to hostel property such as doors, windows, electrical fitting, toilet fitting, glass

panes etc. will lead to fine, disciplinary action, expulsion from the hostel.28

Residents should lock the rooms so as to keep their valuables safely and the hostel

administration will not entertain complaints of theft of Laptops, Cell Phones, Cash and

Jewellery. Laptops can be kept under safe custody of the hostels.

Residents are advised not to keep expensive jewellery, heavy cash or any other

valuables in their rooms. The hostel management does not own any responsibility for the

loss of property left in the rooms due to the inmate’s negligence.

Residents are advised always to keep their belongings under lock & key and to lock

their rooms whenever they go out.

Note: Residents will be personally responsible for the safety of their belongings.

Sleeping in common rooms is strictly prohibited

Cooking in hostel rooms is not permitted.

Residents shall not give any tips to service personals or cooks of the hostel & shall not demand

any special service from any hostel employee.

Residents should not arrange any function, meeting, or religious gathering within the hostel

campus without special permission from the authorities.

Residents involving in business, collection of funds, compelling others to join in some organization

as a member etc. is prohibited under any circumstances.

You are expected to use the electrical appliances and fixtures in an efficient manner. For example,

if you are not in your room, lights and fans should be switched off. Similarly, the common room

appliances / electrical fixtures should only be in operation when you are there.

No resident is permitted to entertain any ex-student of this institution or other institutions. Thepenalty for disobedience of this rule will be very severe. 32

Inmates of the accommodation are not allowed to make any complaint as a group. Individualpetitions alone, addressed to the warden / Administrative officer will be looked into.

No one shall indulge in politics, violence, rioting or instigate communal feelings or have dealingswith outside elements. Such activities may lead to expulsion of the student from the hostel andcollege.

If you are facing any difficulty adjusting with your roommate and unable to resolve the issue, the

matter must be reported to the administration immediately.

Misconduct or infringements of rules & regulations and activities which are not in the interest ofthe institution and harmful to the reputation of the institution will make a student liable for severedisciplinary action and even expulsion from the hostel & College.

Management Representatives are empowered to check the hostelrooms at any time and the equipment/materials. In case of ladieshostels, inspection will be carried out in the presence of the Ladywarden/AO/supervisors.

Through the support staff at hostels, we provide you the followingservices:

Cleaning of premises, Day-to-day maintenance work

Newspapers/Sports and recreation facilities

Licensed washer man (Timings for the washer man @ BoysHostel – 6.00 PM and @ Girls Hostel – 5.30 PM)

Parents accommodation

Subject to availability of accommodation facility, the parents of aresident may be permitted, with the prior written approval by theWarden / AO / Registrar to stay in hostel for not more than two dayson payment of the necessary charges, as fixed by the Hosteladministration from time to time.

Note: The Management reserves its right to change these rules fromtime to time keeping the residents informed through generalcirculars displayed on the hostel notice boards.

Residents are not allowed to stay outside overnight without proper written

request from local guardian / parent which is duly Sanctioned by Authorized

Person from College.

In case of emergency leave, a written application from the student, duly

sanctioned by Registrar/ Program Manager /Authorized Person, must be

produced. The same has to be intimated to the warden

On Holidays and Vacations: A written request from the parent duly sanctioned

by the Registrar.

On Working days: Parent’s letter duly sanctioned by Registrar / Program

Manager /Authorized Person.

Vacating Accommodation: Students are not permitted to vacate the

accommodation without prior approval from respective authorities. An

application from Parent and clearing all dues are mandatory for vacating

accommodation. 39

Residents should note that ragging is banned by a ruling of the Hon’bleSupreme Court of India. The Institute makes adequate arrangements toensure that no incident of ragging takes place. Faculty and staff membersare appointed on duty in various buildings and floors, hostels, canteensetc. to ensure the same.

Residents must not indulge in any such activity that can even be remotelyassociated with or termed as ragging by any fresher.

According to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India ragging includes“disorderly behavior or treatment with fellow student whether by words,spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating andhandling with rudeness any other student, indulging in rowdy or indecentactivities, which may cause or is likely to cause physical or psychologicalharm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a juniorstudent”.

Anti-ragging Policy

Some of the disciplinary actions for residents directly or indirectly involved in ragging and its abetment are as follows: Cancellation of admission. Suspension from attending classes. Suspension / expulsion from the hostel. Expulsion from the Institute. Heavy fine Lodging of FIR / police action against an offender. Rigorous imprisonment up to 3 years (under the Court of Law).

As a measure of preventing ragging, the residents are required to give anundertaking that they know the above rulings and punishment for those whohappen to indulge in ragging and that they will not indulge in ragging secondlyParents of residents are also required to sign an undertaking that they knowabout the above rulings and the punishments for those who happen toindulge in ragging and that their wards will not indulge in ragging.
