RtI Primary Goal for Monitoring

Early identification of struggling learners:• Lack of success mastering academic goals

– Using informal and formal assessments• Behavior interferes with learning

– Organization, lack of motivation, avoidance• Attendance in class

– Misses several days at a time, regularly missed days

Required Actions

Tier I – Classroom Interventions• Differentiated Instruction• Graphic Organizers• Small Group Work / Collaborative Grouping• Questioning Strategies (HOTS)• Before / After School Tutorials• Additional / Modified Practice• 1:1 Feedback and Redirect• Discipline/Consequences• Redirecting/Rewards

• Student moves in from another district or area with interventions / services provided in the past

• Student has had significant medical trauma or mental health concerns or issues

• Below 10th percentile on standardized tests or benchmarks

• Student requires excessive individualized instruction, re-teaching, and 1-on-1 assistance

• Student does not meet grade level standards on benchmarks in two or more related academic areas

• Student appears unable to participate in any academic activities
