Yoga acts in a wholesome manner on the various body parts. This stimulation
and massage of the organs, in turn, benefits us by keeping away disease
and providing a forewarning at the first possible instance of a likely onset
of disease or disorder.

Yoga offers a complete detoxification
of the body by massaging and
“wringing out” the organs.
It is perhaps the only exercise that can work on your internal organs in
such a thorough manner. It ensures
the optimum blood supply to various parts of the body and flushes out
toxins from every corner of your
body. This leads to benefits such as delayed aging, energy
and a zest for life.
Yoga is known to increase flexibility by offering postures that loosen
and lubricate the different joints of
the body including those joints that are not acted upon with regular
exercise routines.
Yoga also increases the range of
motion of various ligaments and tendons aiding in flexibility which
prevents injury and chronic pain.

Personal Attention
You Deserve Enjoy a nurturing kind of
personalized attention where instructors focus on helping you adapt poses to fit your
own needs.
We are trained to notice signs of effort or
discomfort so we can gently adjust your props to fully
support your relaxation.
Restorative
Yoga
The guiding principle of restorative yoga is that support creates release. Every pose is a variation on that theme, and the aim of each pose is the same: relaxation. The most obvious feature of a restorative yoga class is the array of props: blankets, bolsters and blocks support the body to release muscular tension. Equally important, though less obvious, is our skilled instructors who strive to create an atmosphere that encourages students to let go of
mental and physical stress. Props are provided and available for purchase for home use.
AS WITH ANY EXERCISE PROGRAM, IT IS BEST TO
CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE BEGINNING
You will learn there are no rules for how
to use props, as long as they serve the
function of support. We enjoy the
challenge of creatively finding ways to
support each student’s unique body. Our
gentle hands-on touch is never corrective
and assistance is offered as suggestions,
rather than commands.
At Tree of Life, we understand the need to let go of the stresses of everyday
life— our nurturing instructors provide a yoga practice that goes well beyond
relaxing stretches. We embrace our
students by providing a supportive
environment where you are encouraged to relax and restore.
In a Restorative Yoga class, poses are typically held for several
minutes, an internal retreat, with long stretches of silence that
facilitate the process of relaxation. Students may be guided through
breath awareness, inviting them to notice each inhalation and
exhalation enhanced by our 100% organic aromatherapy eye pillows.
Instructors also utilize guided visualization techniques which provide
an active mental task to enhance relaxation.
As the class progresses, students will relax more deeply in each new
pose, with minimal transitions that build toward progressively longer
holds. Instructors provide students specific verbal instructions on how
to mindfully move props and find their way out of poses which
eliminates confusion and frustration. Students are peacefully
encouraged to come out of each pose at their own pace to ensure
maximum comfort and relaxation.
