Today’s Gospel: MT 16:21-27
Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem
and suffer greatly from the elders, the chief priests, and the
scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised. Then
Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him, “God forbid,
Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.” He turned and
said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to
me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings
do." Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wishes to come
after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but
whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit
would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his
life? Or what can one give in exchange for his life? For the
Son of Man will come with his angels in his Father’s glory, and
then he will repay all according to his conduct.”
My soul is thirsting for you, O Lord my God.

Stewardship Reflection: “What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” (Matthew 16:26) St. Francis of Assisi once said, “Remember, you are what you are in the eyes of God, and nothing
else.” We often forget this stewardship wisdom when we spend all of our time, talent, and treasure
to gain more of the world’s riches. We need to set our priorities based on God’s values and not the
values of the material world

Rozanski extends a special thank-you for the many months of planning and the excellent execution of his In-
stallation Mass, Solemn Vespers service, and the dinner and luncheon in his honor. The members of this com-
mittee are: Deacon Christopher Ast, Monsignor Henry Breier, Amy Buehrle, Deacon Dale Follen, Peter

COVID-19 on face-coverings order The Archdiocese of St. Louis would like to remind parishes and schools in St. Louis County of the expanded
face-coverings order that now includes children age 5 years and older, and is strongly encouraged for children
between the ages of 2 and 5 years old.
Eucharistic Ministers are required to use facial coverings when offering Holy Communion. The archdiocesan communications office has received complaints from parishioners who decided not to re-
ceive Holy Communion because guidelines were not being followed, along with additional complaints regard-
ing concerns for social-distancing and overall regard for protective measures at parishes. Please refer to the
guidelines on https://www.archstl.org/coronavirus to ensure you and your staffs are adhering to all the guide-
lines and offering your parish communities the safest possible environment.
