Maintenance of Certification

• Surgeons can attain Self-Assessment Exam credits for American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part II

• MOC Part II is Evidence of Life-Long Learning and Self-Assessment

• This is addressed through 240 credits of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) that include a minimum of 40 CME credits of Self-Assessment Examinations (SAE)

• Participation in the AAOS Registry can count up to 10 self-assessment exam (SAE) credits for MOC part II

How to get started

Getting started

• Be a contracted participant in the Registry

• Visit your Surgeon Dashboard on

RegistryInsights and learn how to pull

your certificate

• Active data submission

• Have your certificate validated and credit

award by AAOS Registries staff

Credits and Submission to ABOS

• After you have downloaded your certificate from

RegistryInsights, you will email it to

RegistryInfo@aaos.org

• In your email:

• Attach your certificate

• State what year you are seeking credit for

• A Registry team member will verify and award

your SAE credit

• When you are ready, you can submit this

certificate via the ABOS portal, and they will

review and apply the credit
