Robert Maynard’s Entrepreneurship Tips

Any person who’s been successful in entrepreneurship will tell you that it’s difficult.

The word is difficult enough just to spell, and starting a business implies a lot of financial risk

and the constant amassing of stress.

On the other hand, entrepreneurship has the potential to be a highly gratifying experience.

After all, few things are more satisfying than bringing your own ideas to fruition, and in a nation where a capitalist system

allows a relatively open market, the opportunity should be available to everyone.

Though financial resources, cultural capital, and educational attainment serve a large role in predicting an individual’s success in the white collar sector, it is possible for someone to start their

own business with little to no financial capital to boot.

Here are a few dos and don’ts of starting a business with no money:

Ride the breeze.

It’s difficult to get a product-based business off the ground with few upfront resources, but a service-based

business often requires little to no initial investment.

Try starting in the service sector and moving to products later.

Work hard and persist.

As cliched as it sounds, anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

Times will undoubtedly get tough, but you’ll never reach your goal by given up.

Stay true to your ambitions and never give up on your ideas.

Get creative about garnering funds.

Inquire about the extent of employees’ skills, and find a way to put them to work.

Try to find an incubation program to believe in you.

Take advantage of cloud funding.

Distinguish yourself.

When you need funding in a pinch, showcasing the merits that make your company both profitable and distinct from other companies can make all the difference in getting a loan from

banks and investors.

Obviously, starting a business from scratch calls for much more than following four simple steps, but hopeful these

ideas can help guide you along the way.

Best of luck!
