DESCRIPTION

Both as a freelance typographic designer and a staff of Mono Lino Typesetting and Cooper & Beatty typesetting, Rod McDonald had designed all of these typefaces. His first engagement with truly designing other than being a lettering artist is Carl Dair’s (1967) Cartier in a highly detailed fashion. It has the Cartier Book with the versions Italic, Medium and Bold. The Egyptian Slate family is available in 6 weights from light to black. It is a sans serif predecessor that is compatible with most Central and Eastern European languages. ITC Handel Gothic is a futuristic typeface available in wide ranges. Primarily, it started with a single-weight original and was lately enlarged to five weights with a complete series of alternate characters. Laurentian was McDonald’s 2nd typeface undertaking in 2001 for redesigning a Canadian publication expanded to several weights. Slate family as seen in 18 versions includes a wide light to dark variations and can be also condensed or italic. Classified as Grotesque Sans, Smart Sans typeface has three weights namely – light, medium, and bold.
