DESCRIPTION

Rohonczi CodexThe Rahonczi Codex is a Medieval document originating from the southeast of Europe. The author is unknown. It is leather bound and contains 448 sheets with 87 miniture illustrations relevent to the text. The paper on which it was written was manufactured in northern Italy 1530-1540. It is written in an unknown language containing approximately 150 different signs. The Rahonczi Codex was discovered in the library of Count Batthyany Gusztáv, and given to the Hungarian Academy of Science in 1838. This is a portion of the complete document with three page groups missing.
