● Account is free, but associated with a credit card in case you decide to purchase services via Roku device (similar to way AppleID works with AppleTV, iPad, iPhone)

● You can add additional sources of video streaming (called "channels") to your ROKU account and devices. Free stuff has ads.

● No charge for adding channel services to Roku devices, but if attempt to actually use a for-charge channel, you will be prompted to subscribe or supply authentication for an existing subscription before it will function.

● No need to add channels at initial setup – can be added later from ROKU device.

Sync With Existing Roku Channels

● If you already have ROKU devices and channels defined on your account, software for those channels will now be installed (you may still need to authenticate subscription channels at first use)
