EDUCATION

Both teachers and the students are convinced about the important contributions educational technology can offer. If properly selected and used, instructional materials can do the following:

Instruction must be student-centered

Students must be collaborative

Learning should have context

Sustain the interest and attention of pupils/ student to learn.

Provides the learner for the necessary improvements for there skills.

Roles and Functions of Educational Technology

Concretize abstract ideas to promote meaningful learning.

Research findings and development that will enrich the student/ learners.

Makes learning permanent because of rich experiences that they provide.

Allow the students/pupils to connect there ideas with each other.

Allow the students/pupils to connect there ideas with each other.

Increase vocabulary by eliminating verbalism.

Let the learners connect new information with knowledge they already have apply it to solving problems at hand.

Develop continuity of thought.

Opened up the world and allowed to connect in new and exciting ways.

Increase the quality of learning while decreasing the time spent.

Check pupils/students preparedness.

Make learning more interactive, hence learning improved.
