WHAT IS ROTARACT?

Rotaract is a Rotary sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18-30 to take action in their communities, develop their leadership and professional skills, and have fun.

Rotaract clubs are either community or university based.

ORIGIN OF ROTARACT

Rotaract started in 1968,through a framework of friendship and service.

Rotaract was created by R.I as a combination of the words Rotary and Action.

The first Rotaract club was Rotaract club of North Charlotte, North Carolina, USA; chartered on the 13th of March 1968(48 years)

The first Rotaract club in Africa was Rotaract club of Lagos (unilag).

GOALS OF ROTARACT

To develop professional and leadership skills.

To emphasize respect for the rights of others, and to promote ethical standards and the dignity of all useful occupations.

To provide opportunities for young people to address the needs and concerns of the community and our world.

GOALS OF ROTARCT

To provide opportunities for working in cooperation with sponsoring Rotary clubs.

To motivate young people for eventual membership in Rotary.
