The Residents Club has received multiple requests for a “luncheon”. In re-sponse the Club is going to see how luncheons are received so at noon on April 15 at OCH there will be one. The entrée (ham) will be provided; please bring a salad or desert and join us. If there is a good turnout other luncheons may be of-fered in the future.
I have been asked several times about “Victoria’s” Bunco. It is not a Resi-dents Club activity but it is very active and open to the public; on the 2
nd Thurs-
day of the month in the OCH. Donna Nelson has volunteered to organize a Resi-dents Club Bunco on the 4
th Thursday of the month; a Bunco night every other
week for our Bunco lovers. Come out and enjoy yourself!
Spring is on the way and more and more of us will be out walking around the park. Our dirty streets here in the park are, for the most part, directly the re-sult of ourselves. Being a 55+ community most of the residents were raised in a time where we learned to take care of our stuff, clean up our messes, and re-spect the property of others. Therefore it is really odd to see the amount of ciga-rette butts and dog droppings on the streets of our community. The stop signs means “stop”, not Smokes Tossed On Pavement. You want to toss your ciga-rette, toss it in your yard; not on the community streets. Dogs can be wonderful companions; they give unrestricted love, are protective, and are there for their masters. Save a few of the bags you get from Food Max and pick up after your dog; not only if it is on someone else’s property but from the streets also. One must pay attention to where they step when going through a cow pasture but your neighbors should not have to do that on our streets. Remember, if you run out of used grocery bags the Park provides bags at the dog park and on Coco-nut.
April 5th
at 10:30 a.m. in the OCH, there will be a speaker to talk about the latest changes to Medicare and how those changes can affect receiving treat-ment. Come join us and bring your questions,
There have been questions as to if the Neighborhood Watch Program was going to be reactivated. I have been told that the previous program died due to dwindling support. It ended up with a few individuals shouldering the work to help protect the entire park. There will be an informal meeting for those that would like to reactivate the program to 1) get a feel for the amount of potential support, 2) identify the lessons-learn from the previous program, 3) and if there seems to be enough support to identify a potential phased implementation plan. Even if there is support this meeting will not attempt to set up a Neighborhood Watch Program; it is only to identify the path forward. The meeting will be Tues-day April 5
th in the PCH at 6:00.
