A Professional Organization for Leisure Recreation
Providers in Healthcare Settings
Educate ~ Engage ~ Evolve
The Recreation Professionals of Ontario (RPO) organization was formed in 1984 by a group of recreation professionals in Central Ontario. They were interested in providing a forum for education, networking, and standard setting. Since 1984, RPO has been recognized by the Ministry of Health as a professional organization for recreation providers. An established Board of Directors oversees RPO and represents all regions in Ontario. In 2017, our members voted to become the newly formed RPO.
