KLOSTER EBERNACH EXPERIMENTAL ORANGE RIESLING 2014 Vineyard: Cochemer Klostergarten Region: Mosel Country: Germany Grape: Riesling Vintage: 2014 Cellaring: 2030 Closure: Cork (Diam 10) Bottle size: 75cl Alcohol: 11.5% RS: 1.2 g/l Acidity: 7.8 g/l pH: 3.1 VINTAGE + METHOD

The 2014 vintage in the Mosel was challenging, with a wet late summer and autumn, but thankfully a dry October allowed for a good Riesling harvest. The grapes were selected for excellent fruit character. Fermentation with indigenous yeast and 40 days of skin maceration during fermentation. The wine is unfiltered, and only a smidgen of sulphur added at bottling.

TASTING NOTES

“Not an ordinary, over worked and heavily oxidative style of orange wine. This is a vibrant, youthful wine with intense aromatics (orange blossom, peach, grapefruit, honey, raisin), supple texture, intense fruity-floral flavours, good balance, and a very long finish.” Martin Cooper, winemaker, November 2015

VICTUALS
