Mission StatementMission StatementMission StatementMission Statement
We are a community of Roman Catholics committed to:
+ a closer relationship with God through the Word and the Sacraments
+ caring for others by sharing the time,
talent and treasure entrusted to us
+ being an instrument of His love.
Correction:
In the recent letter from Nancy
Heilman, Gayle Mace, a very generous donor to the Elphie Silent Auction, was a donor, not Carolyn Mace.
From the Diocese..
“We were the couple who never fought. We don't like conflict, so we just didn't talk. Never. Discussed. Issues. He lived his married single lifestyle, and I lived mine.” Sound familiar? Retrouvaille is a marriage help program that teaches effective communication. The presenting team, three couples and a priest, presents practical tools to enable you to take a good look at many areas of your rela-tionship. They have been there and done that. They will tell you what worked for them. For confidential infor-mation or to apply to attend the program beginning with the weekend of February 14, 2020, call 800-470-2230 or email retrouvaillenc@msn.com, or visit the web site at www.helpourmarriage.org.

Respect for Life Ministry will be participating in the March for Life in Raleigh on Saturday, January
18th. 2020 with car pools leaving the SH parish parking lot at 11:15. Also, we will be participating in the
Washington DC March for Life Friday, January 24th, 2020 leaving St. Anthony’s Church parking lot at
3am and we return in the middle of the night. Please bring a bag lunch and any snacks. Full stop for dinner
is made on the return trip. Seats for the bus are $ 70.00 (but hopefully less). Deadline for availability is
January 8th, 2020. As this is the time of Advent and preparing for the birth of Christ, we need to pray and
think hard about how we in a society that aborts its babies are not preparing so well for the Birth of the baby,
Jesus. Please participate by sending me an email or leave a voicemail regarding your interest in supporting
God’s gift of life for all human beings. Please respond to Dr. Deucher at deucher@connectnc.net or me,
Marge Swierz, 919-923-2714; margeswierz@nc.rr.com by January 8th about your intentions.

LAMB UPDATE: Thank you to all our parishioners who gave so generously to our Lamb collection recently. We were very close to not making our goal, but you all came through at the last moment which enabled us to beat the goal by a substantial amount. However, please know that the church cannot include your donation to your year end statement as they do not have a code for Lamb. But you can still take your donation off your income tax return. Lamb is a IRS 501(c) 3 charity and is a legitimate tax deduc-tion. God bless and thank you for all you do for these teachers and special needs children. Carl Knauer, 2019 Lamb Chairman
