The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph ~ Sunday, December 29, 2019
Prayer & Reflection— Like Mary, Joseph is a model of faith for us. He is a faithful witness and serv-
ant of God's unfolding plan of redemption. Are you ready to believe in the
promises of God, even when faced with perplexing circumstances and what
seems like insurmountable problems? God has not left us alone, but has
brought us his only begotten Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Let us cel-
ebrate Christmas, the feast of the Incarnation, with joyful hearts and let us re-
new our faith and hope in God and in his redeeming work.
"Lord Jesus, you came to save us from sin and the power of death. May I
always rejoice in your salvation and trust in your divine plan for my life."
For 2019 charitable deductions and tax credits, the IRS has ruled that
charitable gifts are deductible only in the year the organization received the
donation. To be considered a charitable donation for 2019, gifts may be
dropped off at the parish office no later than Friday, December 27. Mailed
contributions must have a Dec. 31, 2019 postmark.

Lord God, the source of all love, the wise plan of you providence
has brought these young people together. As they prepare them-
selves for the sacrament of marriage and pray for your grace,
grant that, strengthened by your blessing, they may grow in their
respect for one another and cherish each other with a sincere
love. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

The Holy family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph
A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar
Today’s gospel says Joseph “made his home in
Nazareth.” A “home” is built on the foundation of love,
commitment and a shared history and is decorated with
forgiveness, acceptance, rituals, discipline and mutual
support. The Holy Family challenges us today: Don’t live
“anyplace,” live at HOME!

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or
arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or
resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
