Readings for the Week of June 3, 2018018
"I know the plans I have for you." Jeremiah 29:11
It seems like yesterday that I was blessed to become the principal at St. Patrick Catholic School. In four short years, I have witnessed the Holy Spirit's presence in our school time and time again. We have been blessed beyond measure. In a few short weeks, my husband and I will be moving to Dubuque to be much closer to our grandchildren. We are truly excited; however, it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our school and parish family. From my first days here, Saint Patrick Parish has supported my journey as principal, and I am grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, hospitality, and many wonderful memories.
- Mrs. Mach, Principal

LEARN ABOUT STARTING A HABITAT FOR HUMANITY GROUP The Social Justice Committee is looking for enough volunteers to form a St. Patrick Habitat for Humanity construction group. If interested, please attend our Social Justice Committee meeting on June 4 at 7 PM in the Youth Center. Special guests from Habitat will attend to discuss and explain Habitat’s purpose, goals, and procedures. Call or email Frank Walter if you are interested and can attend at (319) 230-6769 or frankwalter@cfu.net. SOCIAL JUSTICE COLLECTION TO GO TO MARY’S INN The Social Justice Collection for Sunday, June 10 will go to Mary’s Inn Maternity Home. Mary’s Inn is a residential program for single women of any age who are pregnant, homeless, and committed to making a better life for themselves and their babies. It is Catholic-based but will accept women of any faith.
It provides temporary housing, including meals, to the residents. Residents follow a basic set of rules and participate in a ten-step goal program so that they can live independently after giving birth to their child. The Inn also provides educational classes and faith support. It does not receive any direct Archdiocese funding but relies upon private donations, including parish appeals to provide services.
The Inn was founded in 2013. It is in desperate need of funds to expand its programs and services. All cash in excess of $200.00 collected during the masses on June 10 will go to this worthwhile project. If you would like to provide a larger donation, please place your donation in an envelope marked Mary’s Inn. If you would like to know more contact Director Colleen Pasnik at or e-mail colleendirectror@marysinnmaternityhome.org or 563-552-6288.
