Left: Print Magazine Cover Competition. The design submitted
needed to visually speak Print’s tag-line: Design Culture Youth. The
From One cover design’s message states that all artists: animators,
photographers, illustrators, designers, and typographers; may be
working in different art fields but they all come from the same
foundation with the same goal.
Next Page: A poster designed for the Visual Resources Center at
Cal State San Bernardino. The poster’s minimalist design allows
it to stand out from the other posters displayed on campus. Its
information is kept to a minimum, allowing the images to speak for
themselves.

Univers Booklet. 6x7 in. A booklet was created to elaborate on the history
and varieties of the Univers typeface created by Adrian Frutiger.
Univers Poster. 11x17 in. Companion to the type specimen booklet.
Adobe Font Folio Brochure. 12x4 in. (12x16 unfolded). Gate-fold brochure
created to brief the Folio that contains the typeface for purchase.

Compos Dance Studio. 8.5x7 in. (8.5x14 in. unfolded). Recital programs
created for the annual dance revue. Programs contained the show line-up.
Over twenty custom-made business and student ads were created for the
second half of the program.
Right. Takin’ It To The Street. 8x5x11 in. Flyer created to advertise a new
performance team at Compos Dance Studio.

Compos Dance Studio. Business cards
and tri-fold brochures were created
to raise awareness of the 30 year old
dance studio located in the Inland Empire.
The slogan “a family friendly environment
for the young - and young at heart- to
learn and perform the art of dance” was
created to attract the wide age range
the classes are designed for. Clean lines
are used to emphasize the sophistication
of the studio and to set it apart from their
competitors.

Brand Identity | 10
The World Bank is an international bank, not a normal day-to-day
bank. Their current logo is a clip-art line drawing of a globe. The
redesigned logo represents an abstract W to identify with English
speaking cultures and with other cultures. The yellow wave represents
the Bank’s reaching out to those nations in poverty. Natural colors
emphasize the Bank’s willingness to give and help those in need.
Textured and recycled paper is used for the stationery.

Snowboard Connection.
The Snowboard Connection (Snocon)
company has storefronts in the state of
Washington and also has an online store.
The company sells apparel and gear
for snow, water, and land. Their original
logotype had no dynamic movement nor
was it on par compared to competitors. I
gave Snocon a new logo that represents a
S and C intertwined while also mimicking a
snowboarder riding down a mountain.

competitions leading to the Snocon event.

Compos Dance Studio, Lake Elsinore expanded
their studio to include a dance apparel store. A
new brand was created based off the CDS logo.
An emphasis is placed on the French origins of
boutiques. Bags, tags, and labels were designed
for the clothing and packaging.

Kathy’s Gourmet. An online cajun spice
and sauce company located in northern
California. Their current brand does not
represent the “gourmet” look that Kathy’s
high quality ingredients demands. Their new
packaging labels still use the cajun inspired
colors but the brushed image on the label
exudes a classic and renowned presence on
the shelf. The use of minimalism accentuates
the superiority of the product.

Laci le Beau’s Dieter’s Tea. New packaging and
identity created for an online tea company. A slender
box shape was chosen to emphasize the “dieting”
feature.. A sleek modern feel was given to the brand
to appeal to today’s working woman.

Scribner Bend. Located along
the Sacramento Delta in
northern California. The label
has a rich history and the
redesign brings the history
into the labels by creating a
narrative told in letters written
on the label itself. This narrative
gave the various wines a
cohesive brand. Prior to this,
each wine had a distinctive
and separate label that did not
complement the others.
