SOME PEOPLE TALK,SOME COMMUNICATE.
Jeff Harris demonstrated
and explained techniques ofeffective Communication. Whatgets across when you try tocommunicate? On average 1% ofwhat you say, 38% how you sayit and 55% how you look whenyou say it. Over half of anyreceived message is non verbal. We communicate without saying aword. Professionals and businessmen need to be aware ofcommunication techniques and
how they work. When talking we are
usually on automatic pilot.Often we are not aware of the
image we project. You can'tchange what you're not awareof. Jeff Harris uses video
feedback and computerizedspeech analysis to refinesuccessful speech techniques tomake people aware of theirhabits. He helps clientsachieve trust and believabilityin their listeners.
He gave the followinghints to avoid most common
hazards. Distance - it is best
to keep a distance of about 3feet from the person you aretalking to. Posture - keep anopen stance. Stand verticaland upright. Eyes -,look atpeople when talking. Do notstare, as that is taking powerand may antagonize. Move youreyes from one eye to the otherthen to the chin, keep youreyes moving around this facialtriangle. Hands - keep themout of pockets. Let them move.Keep them away from your face.He demonstrated the "Fig LeafFlasher" technique and told usnot to use it. Ask a member
who attended the meeting for ademonstration.
To learn more about his
service, contact Harris &Associates at 578-0333.
President Kent presentedJeff with a bottle of wine andexplained that at our meetingsthe podium is for protection.Jeff understood.

King and silver salmon arecaught in the lake and largerainbow trout are taken in the
surrounding streams. Guideslead the fishing trips and allaccommodations are taken along, including lunch, featuring beer(Bud) and fine wine. Loretta
said the anglers she arrangedthe trip for, came back with alot of fish. The video said

People also take this tripto enjoy the beautifulunspoiled natural scenery andwild life. The video showed
