• What is it?
When you assign a permission role to everyone or to a dynamic group, you can define the target population as
peers or managers of the users in the access group. Peers are users who have the same direct manager as the user
in the access group.
In the Grant this role to... page, besides Granted User's Department, Granted User's Division, Granted User's
Location, and Granted User (Self), you can now also see Granted User's Peers and Granted User's Manager in
the Target population of: dropdown.
You can now easily define a target population of peers or managers.

• You get detailed breakdowns of data usage by data type and by
module.
• You can purge data to free up storage space via the link
provided to the Data Retention Management.
• It offers you an insight of the storage usage in your instance.
You can make data retention strategies accordingly.

• What is it?
Center of Capabilities is a new framework that provides
a centralized repository known as Capabilities Library to
capture the capabilities of people in an organization.
Capabilities include competencies, work styles, work
values, and other organization-defined attributes that
enable people to achieve desired outcomes. In this
release, the supported capability type is competency.
You can perform the following tasks by using Center of
Capabilities:
• Create and manage competencies and the associated
behaviors based on organization-specific
requirements.
• Create a library structure to organize competencies
under different libraries, categories, and groups.

• What is it?
The latest home page is redesigned so that it's simpler, more engaging, faster to load, and available on all devices.
It includes a simplified administration experience as well.
The legacy home page experience (introduced in Q2 2016) will be replaced by the new one (introduced in Q2 2020)
for all customers. You can upgrade to the latest home page today, using the Upgrade Center. We encourage you to
review the available information and begin planning to adopt the latest home page for your organization.
Migration of Legacy Home Page Experience to Latest Home Page Experience

• What is it?
Quick actions are visible based on role-based permission and system configuration. If configured in the system and
relevant to a person's role, the following quick actions are available:
• Create Activity quick action enables you to create an activity in Continuous Performance Management.
• Report Center quick action takes you to the Report Center page.
• Favorites quick action enables you to review a list of available links and select your favorites, so that you have quick
access to them on the home page.
• Prerequisites
• Admin Opt-In
• You have enabled Latest Homepage.
More Quick Actions on the Home Page
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
All quick actions available in the system are visible by default. You, as an administrator can deselect the ones you don't
want to use, so that they aren't visible to anyone, in any role, except for the Favorites and Saved for Later quick
actions, which are always visible.
Remember: Quick actions are visible based on role-based permission and system configuration. Of the ones you choose
to show, individual users only see the ones that are relevant to their role. They can see a maximum of 8 quick actions
total, 6 based on their permission, plus Favorites and Saved for Later.
• Prerequisites
• Admin Opt-In
• You have enabled Latest Homepage.
Ability to Show Or Hide Quick Actions on the Home Page
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
You can now use the Favorites quick action to review a list of available links and select your favorites, so that you have
quick access to them on the home page.
The Available list includes some common links that we provide by default, as well as custom links added by
administrators. The Favorites list includes only the links you've marked as your personal favorites.
The Favorites quick action on the latest home page provides a similar experience to Quick Links on the legacy home
page. The addition of Favorites gives customers quick access to important pages from the home page.
• Prerequisites
• Admin Opt-In
• You have enabled Latest Homepage.
Favorites on the Latest Home Page
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
As an administrator, you can now add custom links to the Favorites quick action on the latest home page. You can also
import custom links that you've configured for the Quick Links tile on the legacy home page.
Custom links are optional. If you add them or import them from the legacy home page, they're included in the Available
list, along with the standard links we provide by default. You can configure one or more target groups who can see each
link. You can also add a localized link name and description for each language in the system.
Many customers require the ability to display different links on the home page for different target groups. That ability
isn't available for Quick Links on the legacy home page.
• Prerequisites
• Admin Opt-In
• You have enabled Latest Homepage.

The card appears on the landing page when it has been more than 30 days since the user's last vacation and he or
she has no planned vacation in the next 60 days.

• What is it?
• To collect country/region-specific information
related to gender, it’s required to select a
picklist with a picklist ID in the format of
gender_XXX, where XXX is a 3-letter ISO
country/region code. Picklist IDs in any other
format aren’t accepted for this field.
• We've included validation messages to notify
that this format must be adhered to avoid
misconfiguration.

• What is it?
• You can now use a rule scenario to configure cross-entity rules that are triggered from the source
entity and changes executed on the target entity.
• For example, you can configure that changes in Job Information update Compensation Information.
• Rule scenarios limit the amount of issues that result from incorrect rule configurations in Basic rules.

• What is it?
• The duplicate check in the rehire process now shows additional fields in the results popup.
• The fields shown are: First Name, Last Name (Username), User ID, Person ID (Person ID External),
Employment Status, Date of Birth, Job Title, Legal Entity, Location, National ID (for example, SSN for
the US)
• In cases where the duplicate check shows multiple results based on the criteria in the Hire/Rehire
Configuration object, it can be difficult to identify the correct match. The additional fields can help admins
narrow down the results and quickly find the correct one.

How It Looked Before How It Looks Now
• What is it?
• Attachments added to the active Work Order record of contingent workers are now referred and not copied in the
corresponding inactive Work Order record.
• This behavior applies to Work Orders created as part of:
1. Hiring and rehiring contingent workers.
2. Adding new Work Orders.
3. Adding new concurrent assignments.
• This enhancement prevents any issues arising out of duplicate attachment copies existing in the Work Order of
contingent workers, by ensuring that the inactive Work Order record always has a reference to attachments present
in the active Work Order.
• In the current version, attachments added to the active Work Order record of contingent workers are not copied to
the corresponding inactive Work Order record. An attachment reference is added to the inactive Work Order instead.
• In the previous version, a copy of every attachment added to the active Work Order record of contingent workers
was added to the corresponding inactive Work Order record.

• What is it?
• We changed the icon that indicates when a pending hire is awaiting approval by participants in a workflow.
The tooltip for the icon is changed to "Pending approval". We changed the icon so its size is similar to the "In
draft" and "Sent back by approver" icons in the Manage Pending Hires tool.

© HR Path 2021

values in bold text as well
as the previous values
listed in strikethrough text.
This closes a gap between
the previous version of
Employee Central and

Positions Without Incumbents Not Moved When Supervisor or Position Changes in Job Information
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
• In Employee Central Organizational Management, when the reporting line is the leading hierarchy, the
lower-level positions with no incumbents are no longer transferred below the new position. This is also
the case when the person is on a position where multiple incumbents are allowed.
• This change was made to avoid empty positions being moved in the hierarchy although they haven't
changed. This is incorrect.
• What's Changed
• Now, positions without an incumbent are not moved.
• Previously, in such cases, not only positions with incumbents who report to the employee were
transferred, but also positions without any incumbent.

• What is it?
• SAP have added the following new country/region-
specific fields for home and corporate address for
Singapore in Employee Central and Employee Central

Building Name.
• They made these changes to have more accurate
address data for customers in Singapore.

• What is it?

portlet provides you with a framework to
further accommodate employees' health and
vaccine status tracking requirements.
• It can be activated through Upgrade Center

• What is it?
• For non-user generic object workflows, CC roles can now be redirected to the object's Manage Data page or
the Manage Positions page.
• The Redirect CC Users to Workflow Approval Page option on the workflow configuration page specifies
whether CC roles are redirected to the workflow details page (also known as "workflow approval page") or
other pages when they open links in an email notification. In case of non-user generic object workflows, if
the option is set to “No”, CC roles are now redirected to either of the following two pages:
- The Manage Data page (for Department-related and similar workflows), where they can quickly review the
corresponding data changes.
- The Manage Positions page (for Position-related workflows), where they can efficiently perform next steps.
For any other workflows, they're redirected to the People Profile page of the subject user.

• What is it?
• Using this new rule setting, you can delete unwanted pending alerts for several HRIS effective-dated entities
when creating a new alert. After a new alert is created following a data change, old pending alerts become
irrelevant and are not expected to be sent.
• Explanation of the Logic
• When the end date of an employee's contract approaches, their manager may extend the contract period
before a scheduled alert is sent. The previous behavior is that after the manager moves the end date
forward, instead of cancelling the original alert and keeping only the new alert, the system would keep and
send both. This has confused customers because the original alert is already irrelevant and shouldn't be sent.
• Three HRIS effective-dated entities are supported now: job information, compensation information, and pay
component recurring.

Context Switcher Shows Inactive Label for Inactive Employment Records
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
• When a logged-in user wants to view their multiple employment records, such as concurrent
employment or global assignment, the context switcher now shows the Inactive label next to their
inactive employment records.
• The distinction prevents users from being redirected to inactive employment records since it enables
them to quickly identify the right employment.

Manage Pending Hires Tool Now Supports Configurable New Hire
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
• New hire templates can be configured to flexibly
configure the hiring process to cater to different
needs for your workforce. When hiring from
the Manage Pending Hires tool, if you have new hire
templates configured, you are now able to select a
template for new hire and rehire scenarios. This
change was needed to bring parity between hiring in
module integration scenarios and hiring in Employee
Central Core.
• In the current version, when you begin the hiring
process by selecting a pending hire, you see a screen
allowing you to select a new hire template.

Sent Back by Approver Status Added to Manage Pending Hires
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
• The Manage Pending Hires tool now includes an icon
to indicate if an approver in the workflow has sent
the pending hire back for further action. Icons in
the Manage Pending Hires tool indicate when a
pending hire is in draft, or if the hire is in process
awaiting workflow approval. However, when an
approver sends the pending hire back to the initiator,
there was no indication in the Manage Pending
Hires tool. We added the new icon to indicate that
the pending hire has been sent back by the approver
and can now be acted upon.
• This new icon helps users to quickly identify and to
respond to pending hires that were sent back.

Incremental Load Mode Supported When Importing Work Permits on Centralized Services
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
• Besides the original Full Purge mode, customers can now
choose the Incremental Load mode when importing work
permits leveraging the Centralized services.
• With this new mode, work permit records that have business
keys not matched in existing data will be imported as new
records; those that have business keys uniquely matched in
existing data will update their corresponding records.
Customers can use two new check tools to identify and clean
up data issues, such as duplicate or incomplete records,
before importing data. In most cases, customers only need to
update a small part of existing data. Updating data in this
new Incremental Load mode is beneficial because it saves
time and system resources.

Validation Available for Work Permit Data Entered on UI
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
• By default, we now validate work permit data entered on the UI to ensure only valid records are saved in the
system.
• We recommend that customers enable Country, Document Type, and Document Number under Manage Business
Configuration workPermitInfo and make them mandatory. Values entered for these three fields on the Work
Permit block are joined to User ID to form a business key that identifies a work permit. The new validation
mechanism works to ensure no work permit with an empty or duplicate business key is saved. Customers still have
the choice of disabling validation by deselecting the Enable Validations on the Work Permit Editing UI option
at Admin Center Company System and Logo Settings.
• Validation can improve customers' data quality and contribute to smoother integration processes.Adm

Qualtrics Email Surveys
© HR Path 2021
• What is it?
• You can use Intelligent Services events to send employee information to Qualtrics, so that you can send
a Qualtrics survey in email for following purposes:
✓ How they feel about their rehiring process.
✓ How they're doing as a first-time manager.
✓ How employees are doing after changing from individual contributors to becoming a manager with
direct reports.
✓ How employees who were managers feel about their transition to becoming an individual
contributor, without direct reports.

• Enabling this feature requires Employee Central, a Qualtrics Employee Experience license for Lifecycle
projects, and enabling Intelligent Services and Integration Center. You use your Qualtrics account to
create surveys and view its results. All the settings to configure the contents and schedule for the email
survey are also performed at Qualtrics. Before you can configure this integration, you also need to
create a business rule and an OAuth configuration.

Qualtrics Email Surveys for Long / Short Term Disability
• What is it?
• You can use Intelligent Services events to send employee information to Qualtrics, so that you can send
a Qualtrics survey in email when employees go out on short-term disability.
• Long Term: Customers wanted a way to be able to simplify the process for sending a survey in an email
to be able to gather feedback from employees directly about what they think about the long-term
disability program.
• Short Term: Customers wanted a way to be able to get feedback from their employees regarding the
organization's short-term disability program.
• What's Changed
• Current version: Manage Qualtrics Integrations in the Admin Center includes the Employee Long

Opening Accrual and Opening Entitlement
• What is it?
• You can use the opening accrual and opening entitlement posting types to manually post an initial leave balance
to a time account.
• The system doesn't recalculate opening accruals and opening entitlements. You can use them to manually post
an initial balance to a time account, for example, when migrating your time account balances.
• These posting types are introduced to make it easier for admins to post balances for time accounts with the
Entitled as Transferred entitlement method.
• What's Changed
• Current version: You can use the opening accrual to make an initial leave balance posting that is yet to be
transferred into an entitlement. The initial leave balance posting doesn't get recalculated based on the
accrual rule.
• Previous version: The system might have overwritten values according to the accrual rule when manual

Default Disability Period Settings in Short-Term Disability Absence for Canada and United States
• What is it?
• You can now configure the policy for the short-term disability absence and the system will propose the

• The system provides a button that the admin can use to fill the Disability Period End Date fields with
the dates that will reflect your company's policy for the short-term disability absence.
• This feature reduces the admin's manual work of filling the Disability Period End Dates. The admin can
also track the differences between the short-term disability periods in the absence record and the

status, such as Approved, Rejected, and Cancelled, for objects in Employee Central Time Off and Time
Sheet. The number of objects and their workflow percentage is also shown.
• The dashboard is available in the Content Store in Report Center..
• Admins can use the dashboard to keep track of pending approvals. They can also use it to drill down to
information on the manager who is to give approval and the user who submitted the information or

strongly recommended that you test the new UI in your test instance, or in your production instance
using the separate URL provided by SAP. This gives you the opportunity to assess the new UI and
prepare user guides and rollout material for your employees.
• The new UI is easier for employees to navigate.
• What's Changed
• Current version: SAP has introduced a 2-month calendar overview which displays the status of
previous time sheets, so employees can keep track of their scheduled payments. It has made it
easier to record attendances, breaks, on-call times, and absences.
• In addition, employees can now request approval for single attendance recordings when SAP
SuccessFactors Time Tracking is switched on.
• The new UI is responsive to screen size, meaning it always displays the correct amount of
information for the user's specific screen.

Working Time That Ends at Midnight & Cross-Midnight For Attendances
• What is it?

• Additionally, you can now define segments in the work schedule, the work schedule day model, and
time segment filters in the time valuation that end at midnight.
• With this new function, it is now much easier to support any working time models that allow employees
to work during the night.
• What's Changed
• Current version: Employees can track their working time for cross-midnight shifts.
• Previous version: Employees received an error if they attempted to enter an end time of 24:00 or

Automate Benefit Enrollment Changes Due to Job Transfer
• What is it?
• This feature allows you to create or update benefit enrollments for:
• Job transfers within the same legal entity or between legal entities when there's no termination and
rehire
• Future or past-dated events
• This feature allows you to close the gaps in the way job transfer scenarios were handled when an
employee's job transfer affected the benefits assigned to the employee.
• What's Changed
• Current version: Global Benefits supports benefit enrollment or update for job transfer or job change
scenarios using the ISE event for job transfer.
• Previous version: Global Benefits didn't support benefit enrollment or update for job transfer or job
change scenarios using ISE events. Only system events New Hire, Termination, and Rehire were
supported.

Enhanced Date Information Display in Global Benefits
• What is it?
• The following dates have been updated to display the date in the employee's profile time zone rather than the
server time zone:
• Claim Date in Benefit Claim
• Request Date and Effective From Date in the Benefit Enrollment and Benefit Program Enrollment
• This is done to improve the user experience on date and time information in SF applications.
• What's Changed
• Current version: The dates are displayed in the time zone set in the logged in employee’s profile. If the time
zone isn't assigned in the employee’s profile, then the server time zone is considered.
• Previous version: The dates were displayed in the server time zone, irrespective of the time zone set in the
employee’s profile. For example, assume an employee works for an organization in Germany that has a server
in Australia. If the employee enrolls for an Insurance benefit in Germany on March 29, 2021 (4:00PM). The
system considers the Effective From Date as March 30, 2021 (1:00AM) due to the time zone differences.

New Workplace Pension Plan Type
• What's Changed
• Current version: SAP has introduced a new pension/retirement plan type called Workplace. When you
choose the retirement plan type as Workplace, you can choose the contribution option as Employee
with Employer Match. Additionally, the field Multiple Fund Selection Allowed has been changed to
Pension Funds.
• Previous version: The system limited the number of contribution guidelines to one for each
country/region and plan type. This feature was developed to overcome this limitation and meet the
