How does it work?
• Applicant submits abstract to Mock Review Program 3-5 months prior
to NIH deadline
• Applicant submits grant paperwork (as complete as possible) to
Mock Review Program 4 months prior to NIH deadline
• Proposal will be assigned to two reviewers, 4 weeks to review
• Applicants meets with reviewers 3 months prior to NIH deadline
• Deadline flexibility
Progress to date?
• Two pilot review panels – very well received
• Significant changes to proposal
• NIH Biosketches and letters of support
• Career development plan
• Statistical analysis plan
• Enthusiasm for program
• Expand to include a broader range of applicants and grants
