ProgramMonitoringAndAssessmentEachprogramismonitoredandevaluatedbyitsinstructor.Inadditiontoitsinstructor,thestudents’progressisobservedbyitsprogramdirector.Theorywillbetaughtusingcoursematerial,handouts,assignments,videos,andprojects.Theassessmentprocessesconsistofquizzesandawrittenfinalexam.Studentsmustreceiveaminimumof75%orhigheronallquizzesandexamstopassaccordingtoHACpoliciesandprocedures,howevergradingtermsmayvarydependingoninstructor.Seeyourcoursesyllabus.Labtimeisusedtotrainintherequiredskillsusingrepetitionandrole-play.Studentswillbeevaluatedusinginstructorobservationofinteractionaswellasindividualdemonstrations.Duringclinicalsessions(ifapplicable)studentsarerequiredtomaintainachecklistofskillstoensurethattheyaresatisfyingcurriculumandgainingpracticalexperience.Allclinicalportionsareassessedbasedonapassorfailgradingsystemusingthefollowingcriteria:

AcademicStandardsHealthRequirementsForanyoftheHACAlliedHealthprogramsstudentsarerequiredtopassaphysicalexam,provideTBtestresults,andshouldbeabletoliftatleast50lbs.Ifastudentispregnantorhasanyphysicalimitationstheyareadvisedtodiscussitwiththeirinstructor.DressCodeEachstudentwillbeprovidedwithtwo(2)uniforms.UniformsarerequiredtobeworninALLclinicalsession(ifapplicable)aswellasthelastdayofclassandatstatetesting(ifapplicable).Uniformsareoptionalintheclassroomsetting.Clinicalshoesmustcontainrubbersoles.Anamebadgewillbeprovidedandwillberequiredtobeworndaily.Studentscannotparticipateinaclinicalsessionwithoutproperschoolidentification.StudentConductStudentsarearepresentationofHACandareaskedtoshowprofessionalism,respectandresponsibilityinandoutoftheclassroombyfollowingthepoliciesoftheirprogram,studentconduct,andacademicstandardsofHAC.AlthoughHAChasmaintainedhighpassratesandemploysexceptionalinstructorstofacilitateanaccuratesoundprogram,weliketoremindstudentsoftheirresponsibilitytostudy,practice,andreachallobjectivesasadultlearners.Ultimatelyyoursuccessisyourstory.AcademicProgressStudentsaretoremaincompliantwithallstudentconductpolicies,academicstandards,financialobligationsandattendancepoliciesinordertomaintainsatisfactoryprogressintheprogram.Studentsareencouragedtoaccomplisheducationalgoalswithagreatmeasureofsuccess!GraduationRequirementsAllprogramgraduatesareawardedaCertificateofCompletion.Thisisthedocumentedproofthattheminimumstaterequirementshavebeensatisfied.Successfulcompletionincludescompletionofminimumstaterequiredhours,passingscoresinalltheoryand/orclinicalcourseworkincludingfinalexam.Someprogramsrequireastateexambetakenoffpremises,inwhichHACdoesassistwiththeregistrationprocess,butisnotliablefortransportation,cost,orexamresults.

• Final:Ifapplicable,studentsmustreceiveaminimumof75%ontheirfinalexam
• ClinicalSkills&Performance:TheclinicalportionwillbegradedonPass/Failterms.TheclinicalportionisbasedonthesatisfactoryperformanceofALLskillsrequiredbythequalifyingboard.
TheEMTprogramisrequiredtomeetan80%minimumonquizzesandfinalexam.ChallengingAGradeWhenagradeorevaluationdisputeoccurs,studentsarerequiredtofiletheirwrittenpetitionorgrievancewithin5daysafterthegradehasbeenrendered.Petitionsorgrievancesinitiatedafterthe5-daydeadlinewillnotbeconsidered.Whenagradeorevaluationdisputeoccurs,studentsshoulddiscusshowthegradewasdeterminedwiththeinstructor.Ifquestionsstillremainfollowingtheconferencewiththeinstructor,theissueshouldbereferredtotheprogramdirector.Adecisionwillbemadeandawrittenresponsewithinoneweek.Studentswhoreceivefailinggradesbecauseofnonattendanceduetoillnessarerequiredtosubmitmedicalevidencedocumentingtheirincapacitytocompletethecourseduringtheperiodinquestion.
