What happens if we don’t eat them?

• When you don't get enough iron in your body you may get anemia, excessive menstrual bleeding, learning disabilities, low body temperature, dizzy spells, weak and/or tiredness.

• You may also go pale in the face and need to rest more in excercise.

• When you are low in iron, your brain and organs are being starved of oxygen.

Fun Fact

Vegetarian Iron Sources

Many vegetarian foods are good sources of iron, including whole

grains, egg yolks and dark green vegetables. Dried fruits and

beans also have high levels of iron.
