• How aging and disease affect them.

• This year, anatomy could be performed on a cadaver!

Awesome Aquifers• Construct an aquifer on site using simple

materials.• Know groundwater concepts (written test)

• Construct an electrical vehicle to travel a specified distance AND stop on a dime!

In this case, stop on a

Dynamic Planet• Written test and process skills related to

Earth’s Fresh Waters

Ecology• Questions about the ecology and adaptations

of the North American Biomes

Experimental Design

• Design, conduct, and report the findings of an experiment on-site

Fossils• Station-based test on identification of fossils

and knowledge of the organisms.

Junkyard Challenge• Construct a device on-site to solve an

engineering challenge

Meteorology

• Question-based test on Storms and Weather

Metric Mastery

• Estimation and measurement of all things metric.

Microbe Mission

• Answer questions, solve problems, and analyze data about microbes.

Mystery Architecture

• Engineer a device to be tested using only what is given you in the BAG OF MYSTERY!

Optics-Out of Sight

• Activities and questions related to geometric and physical optics.

Ornithology• Knowledge

about North American birds

Pentathlon

• Event that mixes academic knowledge with quick physical tests.

Road Scholar

• Questions based on map-reading and creating skills.

Shock Value

• Activities to show understanding of electricity, magnetism, and electric motors.

Solar System

• Knowledge about our own solar system from the Sun to the Oort cloud

Storm the Castle

• Design, build, calibrate a device to launch a projectile a specified distance.

Towers
