Like animals, plants reproduce.

The stages of plant reproduction are: - pollination, - fertilisation and - fruiting.

Topic 3

Plant Reproduction

A bee visits flowers to collect nectar to make honey. Nectar is a sweet liquid.

The flowers make nectar to attract insects and birds.

Topic 3

Plant Reproduction

Pollen from the anthers stick to the bee. The bee carries the pollen to other flowers.

Topic 3

Plant Reproduction

The bee brushes pollen onto the stigma. This is called pollination.

Topic 3

Plant Reproduction

The pollen fertilises the ovules. The ovary becomes a fruit, which protects

the seeds. Some fruits are soft and juicy; others are

hard and tough.
