Sharing is Fun!

Nicky Somkanay

Kaitlin Morgan

Bob did not like to share. He kept all his

toys for himself.

None of the kids liked Bob because he

didn’t share his toys.

Bob was alone and sad, so he decided to

share his fire truck with Demonte.

Demonte shared his toy with Bob. Bob

was so happy that he started sharing all of

his toys with everyone.

Soon, everyone liked Bob because he

shared, and Bob got to play with other

kid’s toys all because he shared.

Baby Frogs

Once upon a time there was a tadpole, who

was new to the world and very curious.

Before he even knew what was going on, he

started to grow legs.

All the other tadpole laughed and picked at

him, because he was the only one with legs.

The tadpole, swam and hid in his nest from all

of the others.

Then one day, the little tadpole took a swim

around the pond. He noticed that one of the

other tadpoles started to grow legs.

Soon after, the little tadpole realized that he

wasn’t so different after all. All of the other

tadpoles were growing legs too; even the ones

that had picked on him before.

Then they all came up to the little tadpole and

said they were sorry for picking on him. They

too, had realized that they were all the same.

Moral: Never judge, because no one is better than

the next.

Differences

There was a group of balloons. One was

blue and the rest were red.

The blue balloon was sad because it wasn’t

red.

The blue balloon painted himself red to fit in.

When they were outside talking, it

started to rain.

The red paint started to come off when it

rained.

In a few minutes all the red paint came off.

All the red balloons told the blue

balloon “you can be different and still fit

in.”

Emily the Elephant

Emily was on her way to school when she

ran into a zebra. Zip the Zebra told Emily

that they were going to the same school.

Emily and Zip made their way to school

when all of a sudden Ashleigh the

alligator, the bully of the school, told them

that if they didn’t give her their lunch

money, then she would beat them up.

Emily and Zip stood up to Ashleigh and

told her that they were not doing any such

thing and that she should stop trying to

bully people.

Ashleigh never had anybody stand up to

her the way Emily and Zip did. Ashleigh,

who didn’t have any friends, thought about

what they said and came to the conclusion

that she wasn’t going to bully anyone else

Moral: Don’t treat others the way you

wouldn’t want to be treated or else you will

end up with no friends like Ashleigh.

Everyone in the

world is a helper no

matter how big or

small.

Another way that you

can be a helper is

helping the elderly.

You can help around the house with your parents

and take the trash out.

When you eat

something always

put your trash in

the trash can.

• Remember you can always help someone no matter how big or small you are, if you put your mind to it.

Dinosaurs fit in

On the first day of school, Dinosaur

was very nervous about meeting new

friends. He was a lot bigger than most

animals and they were usually

frightened of him.

Everything was going well for

Dinosaur. Story time was fun, and the

teachers were nice. When recess

started, Dinosaur went outside and sat

by himself because everyone already

had friends.

Dinosaur was so sad that when he went

home he cried to his mom. He cried and

cried while his mom tried to calm him down.

She told him that he should at least try and

talk to the other animals and make friends.

This made Dinosaur feel better and he

decided to try the next day.

The next day, Dinosaur tried to talk to

everyone. He said “Hi” to Cat and Dog, but

they ran away. He said “Hi” to Bird, but she

flew away. He said “Hi” to Fish, but he hid in

his castle. He said “Hi” to Squirrel, but she

ran up a tree. Finally, Dinosaur said “Hi” to

Ferret, and she climbed up his back and

started playing with him.

Once everyone saw that Dinosaur was

very friendly with Ferret, they were not

afraid of him anymore. Dinosaur soon

was friends with everyone. =D

It’s the first day of

school and Molly

doesn’t want to get

up. Her mother

comes in to wake

her and she wines.

She then finally gets

up to go to the

bathroom to wash

up for school.

Molly’s mother

calls for her to

hurry so she can

have breakfast.

Molly still moves

slowly because

doesn’t want to go

to school. When

she gets downstairs

she sits at the table

to eat breakfast.

Molly is the last one

to sit.

She sees that her

brother and sister

are happy and

ready to be off to

school, so when

they leave she is still

sitting at the table.

Molly’s mother

comes back into

kitchen and Molly

ask s “Mommy do I

have to go to school

today”. Her

mother says “why

don’t you want to

go”?

She says because

it’s a new place and

I won’t know

anybody. Well

Molly that’s the fun

part about school

you get to meet a

lot of new friends.

Molly come on I’ll

take you to show

you all the cool new

things inside your

school.

When they got to

the school Molly’s

mother showed her

the bus that she

will be riding. She

showed her the

school front office

and the cafeteria

where she will be

eating with all her

new friends.

When they got to the

playground Molly

asked “Mommy will I

get to play on that” and

she said “Yes”. When

she finally got to her

classroom and seen all

the bright colors Molly

told her mother that

she like school and

wanted to stay.

Molly ran in to sit at

her desk as the

other children

came in.

Max the Bold

By: Patricia Milstead & Harmony

Stills

Max and his mom and dad walked into the

school, on the first day. Max was happy he had

his parents with him.

Max’s parents walked him to his class, and

then gave him a hug and kiss. After that, they

said goodbye and turned to walk away.

Max didn’t want to stay there alone; but he

knew he had to be brave. He felt like running

after them.

Instead he walked to the nearest group of kids.

They looked at him, and he said “Hello.”

They then asked him to come play with them.

With a smile on his face, Max realized he

wouldn’t be alone.

Max and his new friends then ran off to play

basketball. By the end of the day, he was

friends with everyone and had really enjoyed

school.

The Moral

Ashley and Celeste were shocked at the class’s attendance. They didn’t know anyone in the class. They didn’t want to go back to North Elementary. The teacher, Ms. Bob, paired them for the first task.

They talked about their family and pets.

They noticed that they had a lot of hobbies

in common.

They were inseparable. Everywhere you

saw Celeste, you saw Ashley. Before they

knew it they were best friends.

They never knew making friends could

be so easy. They learned that making

friends could help them in the coming

years.

The Friends That Couldn’t Get

Along

Once upon a time, there were four pretty

close friends. There was Adam, Elizabeth,

Joan, and Daniel. Elizabeth and Joan

have been friends for years now. They

just met Adam and Daniel this year.

When Joan and Daniel met, they quickly

became friends. Adam and Elizabeth

didn’t agree with this. Elizabeth just knew

that Joan and Daniel weren’t meant to be.

So Adam and Elizabeth decided to come

up with a plan to stop Joan and Daniel’s

friendship. They decided that they would

tell each of them a different story. Adam

would tell Daniel that Joan wasn’t a good

friend. He said the reason was that he

heard Joan was someone that couldn’t be

trusted at all.

Daniel didn’t believe him at first but then

the more and more that Adam said things

he believe him. Then Daniel finally

believed him and told Joan they couldn’t

be friends anymore.

Joan wasn’t really mad because Elizabeth had already told her that Daniel couldn’t be trusted and that they shouldn’t be friends. Then for the next few days Joan and Elizabeth as well as Adam and Daniel kept to themselves.

Then one day Joan and Daniel had a class

together. Then they decided that they

needed to be friends again because they

missed each other too much. They said it

don’t matter what Adam and Elizabeth

said.

In the end Elizabeth and Adam realized

that if their friends are happy then it was

good. So they were all friends from that

day on.

Math

By: Ben Huff, MacKenzie Lasher, and Jennifer Lee

Dyno-Dan was in math class when Mr. Math told the

class: “Class tomorrow we will begin units of multiplication;

Be prepared.”

Dyno-Dan was a little nervous. Then, Awesome-

Alice walked up to Dyno-Dan. Dyno-Dan told Awesome-

Alice about Mr. Math’s class. Awesome-Alice said “Don’t

worry, I’ll help you.”

Awesome-Alice said: “ One times any number is like looking in a mirror; it’s the

same thing.”

Awesome-Alice says: “ Two times any number is double

two each time.”

Awesome-Alice says: “When you do the threes table, remember this: ‘Add up

three, you’ll buzz like a bee’.”

• Awesome-Alice said: “If you want four, or more, just add

four”

• Awesome-Alice said: “For the fives tables, it will always be a five or zero!”

Dyno-Dan said: “ Thank you, Alice; you are AWESOME!!! I learn so much”

The Virus

Countdown Entry #1

Today is the first day of school. I feel sorry for the others,

they play on the play ground, blissfully ignorant to the world around

them. They swing on their swings and slide down their slides, while

the sky slowly darkens.

They remain clueless while I alone know it’s coming. It will

soon be upon us. The terror, the trouble…. The virus.

Countdown Entry #2My name is José, I started the fourth grade less than a

week ago. It’s been the worst school year of my life so far.

Last year all of the third graders noticed that the year was

different, our classes were harder, longer, and the grades went

from words to letters. We were all confused throughout the year but

that wasn’t a big deal…. Until the end of the year, the teachers had

told us about these things called the EOG’s but we didn’t fully

understand. When the day finally came to take them we were all

horrified by the size of the test it was the biggest test we had ever

seen! There were nearly one hundred questions! Per test! It was

the worst three days of our lives.

Countdown Entry #3

The EOG’s are in two days, all of my classmates are

panicking none of them expected this, they had all forgotten about

the test.

I am the only one prepared to accept my fate, I alone am

prepared for the terror. I’ve studied all year while the others goofed

off. I knew the test was coming and I did everything I could to make

it as easy as possible. Yet, I still feel confident that it wont be a

walk in the park.

Countdown Entry #4

It’s over! The test are done and our grades came in

yesterday! I had the highest score in the fourth grade on all of the

EOG’s

I was certain it would be as hard and terrifying as last year

but it was very easy. I knew the test were coming so I studied, and

because I studied and was prepared ahead of time I flew through

the test without a single problem.

Maybe next year everyone will study ahead of time and do

well. I know I will.
