Praise God From Whom All
Blessings Flow Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth!
Sing about the glory of his name!
Tell the world how glorious he is.
Psalm 66:1-2
April has been a tremendous
month of work at the building site
for Southside Baptist Church. If
you haven’t been there in a while
you really should come by and see
the progress. We have some side-
walks, curb and gutters poured
which makes it a little easier get-
ting in the building.
The gym is almost complete with
drywall taped and mudded along
with texture and paint. The Lord
has continued to send volunteers
from the Campers on Mission
group. They have been a tremen-
dous help with their work and
good encouragers for our volun-
teers. We have had two cats in the
building. You hardly ever see them
but they really like homemade
cookies and nutty bars. Every
night they get into our snacks.
Jack Ruffle brought his animal
trap and caught both cats. Animal
control is trying to find a home for
them.
Much progress has been made
from the Alabama team. We have
almost completed the steel studs
which go on the outer wall of the
sanctuary building. This gives us a
good fire rating and will help us to
be ready for the teams coming in
June. The ladies from Union Hill at
Oneonta, AL also started staining
the trim for our doors, windows
and base.
One of the men from the Alabama
team told us of his sister and
brother-in-law who own a company
called Lamb Stone. This company
has been in their family for several
generations. They have volun-
teered to donate the stone for the
front of the building and columns.
What a great blessing. This is real
stone cut in veneer sections. Bob
Duncan has agreed to lay the
stone. It seems like every time we
turn around God is blessing us.
Southside has also had a tremen-
dous month of baptisms. Through
March and April we have baptized
7 out of 8 Sundays. For May 1 we
have 3 to baptize. As the volunteer
mission builder says “ God is Good
all the time. All the time God is
Good.”
Praise Him, Praise Him,
Brother Guy

The WMU Associational meeting will be held at Millersburg Baptist Church on May 7th at 9:00am. (This is a change of location from before.) The Beauty of Ashes ministry at the Vandalia Women’s Correctional Institute needs your help with needed supplies for their bible study. Visit:grandcrossingsba.org to see a listing of these simple needs. Reminder: The adult mission trip to Lincoln, North Dakota will be June 23rd-July 1st. Let Preston know soon if you are interested in going. His number is 573-826-9584.
Associational News
For many, depression is associated with shame and humiliation—even a lack of faith. But in this refreshingly honest and oh-so-very-real revelation of one woman's journey through depression, you'll hear the voice of a kind friend. And in her words you'll find hope and renewed confidence that will guide you through your own darkness and into the light. -If you are currently suffering from depression—this book will help you realize you're not alone. -If you have a loved one dealing with depression—this book will help you understand. -If you are a mental-health professional—you now have a new tool to encourage your clients. Along with the humor, Chonda shares practical insight, biblical teaching, emotional support, and sympathetic concern. Whether you've experienced depression in your own life or in the life of someone you love, this friend has something to offer you: help, hope and, believe it or not, plenty of laughter.
When life’s left you flatter than a steamrolled possum, turn here for a little hope, humor, hones-ty, and encouragement from the Bible. It’s the best of Chonda Pierce’s celebrated Roadkill Re-ports to her fans, plus lots of new material, and it’s perfect for reinflating your outlook—anytime, anywhere! [Postcard from Chonda] I tell jokes for a living. It’s adventurous. But to do that, I have to fly for hours. I have to take a bus for days. I have to walk up steep stairs in skinny heels. In short, I sometimes take a beating like roadkill on a country highway! Life really is one long journey to heaven. My travel journal is filled with what I’ve learned along the way—the hurts, the laughter, the victories, the failings, the crowds and the loneliness, and mostly, the times I’ve seen God at work.
