How long must girls’ dresses and shorts be?

At or below finger tips when standing straight.

Short sports shorts are NOT allowed. Shorts with words are also not permitted.

What about flip-flops?

Kindergarten may not.4th 5th may, but they will not be

able to participate in P.E. or climb on any playground equipment

during recess.

Are Mohawks allowed?

Mohawks are allowed, as long as they are small and do not cause a disruption of the learning time.

Are boys allowed to wear ball caps?

Hats are only allowed to be worn INSIDE on special designated days, and must be worn properly.

Are girls allowed to wear leggings and tights?

Leggings or Tights are allowed if they are worn under dress code appropriate clothing.

Long T-shirts with tights only are NOT allowed.

What about pajama bottoms or slippers?.

Pajamas and slippers are not permitted.

They are in style (and expensive!). But do they meet the dress code?

Frays & Tears are NOT allowed. Large gaping holes are NOT allowed.

Baggy or slacking below waistline

pants are NOT allowed.

What about sunglasses?

Sunglasses, unless prescribed by a physician,

are prohibited from being worn in the building.

Can my child dye his/her hair?

Unnatural hair dyes/colors are not

permitted unless on a school designated

day .

What types of words/images are permitted on t-shirts?

What IS NOT permitted on t-shirts?

Words that advertise alcohol, weapons, skulls and cross-

bones, words that are insulting or detract from the

learning environment.

Why all the rules?

Students are here to learn. Clothing can interfere with

learning when it is too short and undergarments and body parts are not covered, or when words and images cause students to focus on clothing instead of

learning.
