Welding Thunder 2015 - Invitation to Compete - Registration open!!!
Attention students and instructors! Registration is now open for the Welding Thunder welding competition. This is a fully portable welding fabrication team challenge designed to allow Instructors and students to show case their skills in a fun and competitive way. Professional welding behavior is expected for all teams Students will demonstrate skills and abilities in: • Team leadership, organizational skill in creating a plan of implementation to compete at this event • The set up and operate welding equipment and related welding fabrication tools safely and effectively • The creation and interpretation of industry compatible welding blueprints, symbols and standards • Computational and quantitative skills in the measurement, layout and preparation of materials for welding • This is an Instructor and student driven event. Good sportsmanship and polite behavior is expected. No foul language will be tolerated. The scoring judge and program coordinator will address any concerns or issues and their decision is final. • We are competing for pride and bragging rights only, not for money. We expect that there will be
some prizes donated and teams are invited to see what they can bring to the event for the prize pool. •Competition Dates: OCTOBER 8, 9, and1 0 Location: MOHAVE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, KINGMAN AZ Who should register: College and high school teams
Registration: A completed and signed registration form is required for each student attending the event and must be sent to Mohave Community College by the required cutoff date September 30th. See the registration form for more details. There is no entry fee except as outlined on the registration form. Awards: Best Welded Fabrication Project, Best Themed Team i.e. equipment and uniform appearance & Best Bar B Que Lunch & People’s Choice Award (There can be only one!)
