Distance Learning Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses AY 2020/2021Self-Funded Courses for SKE Trainees and Qualied Teachers
enquiries@vidlearn.ac.ukhttps://sfske.vidlearn.ac.uk
Our courses are based on the latest DfE specications and built around a series of high-quality presentations that will guide you through the subject content at the desired level (GCSE, A-level or both).
Your progress is assessed during the course via a combination of Assessments, Audits, Summaries and Reections, which help you identify areas of strength and areas for development.
You will have access to our new Virtual Lesson (VL) resources. These resources are delivered by experienced, practicing teachers and provide a great contrast to the main key concept recordings.
Virtual Lessons is a truly innovative way to experience how a topic is taught and experience all of the components that make up a lesson. We have the complete GCSE curriculum covered with VL in our SKE subjects.
Whilst all Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses are specied at 25 hours study per week for a certain number of weeks, you can take as long as you wish to nish them as long as you complete the total number of hours and nish before your training begins (usually September 2021). If you are already a qualied teacher and are entering an SKE with us to teach a new subject or return to teaching, within reason, you can complete any time.

We oer courses in the following subjects:• Mathematics• Physics• Chemistry
• Biology• Geography• MFL
• Computer Science• English• Religious Education
Self-funded Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses
We reduced our prices to the bone to oer Self-Funded SKEsAs a major provider of distance learning SKE for more than a decade, we know the positive eects these courses have on Trainees and Teachers. We have been consulting with the ITT community whilst waiting for information regarding funding and it’s clear that the community agree, an SKE before or during your training or prior to teaching a new subject will signicantly improve your condence as a Trainee or Teacher. It is this conrmation that has inspired us to oer self-funded online SKEs at the lowest price available.
SKE funding from the Department for Education (DfE) has changed this year. The majority of funded SKE courses are not starting until 1st April 2021 with limited places available. Geography SKE is no longer supported by Government funding and bursary. Please apply for a self-funded SKE course using the details bottom right if one of the following applies to you:
VIDLEARN® oer the full range of SKE courses - Now!
nish before your training begins (usually September 2021). If you are already a qualied teacher and are entering an SKE with us to teach a new subject or return to teaching, within reason, you can complete any time.
• You have been oered a place on an ITT Programme, with SKE as a condition of that place, and nd that you are ineligible for funded SKE;• You are a qualied teacher and would like to train to teach another subject or are returning to teaching.
While participants can only complete an SKE in their specialist subject, we at Vidlearn acknowledge the fact that most science trainees and teachers will teach across the three sciences. As such, on ALL our science courses participants get access to the Core GCSE resources for all three sciences (and on our 16, 20 and 28-week courses they also get access to the Core A-level resources for all three sciences). Participants have access to these resources during their SKE, and for two further years to fully support their teaching across the sciences.
