Lunar WomenBreaking Barriers: Women, Science & HistoryOver a century ago, the physicist Hertha Ayrton declared: "I do not agree with sex beingbrought into science at all. The idea of 'woman and science' is completely irrelevant.Either a woman is a good scientist, or she is not." Her ideal vision of equality has stillnot been achieved, but putting women back into scientific history can help toexplain modem attitudes.
