JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K.K Sharmaon Thursday visited the proposed sites for IT Park inJammu and had a detailed review on locational advan-tage and facilities to be provided to the end users inthe IT Park.

Advisor was accompanied by Ankita Kar, MD,Jammu & Kashmir Information TechnologyInfrastructure Development Company (JKITIDC),Assistant Commissioner Revenue Jammu, VijaySharma, GM JKITIDC, Pankaj Gupta and other sen-ior officers.

MD JKITIDC informed the Advisor that the pro-posed IT Park would be having Plug and Play facilitiesto the IT enabled unit holders, besides they will be pro-vided lease lines and dedicated lines for having HighSpeed internet facilities. It was also told that it wouldbe more like an integrated IT Park with residentialfacilities for entrepreneurs as well as the technicalstaff and human resources working in the IT units in asecured atmosphere.

The Advisor was further told that the proposed site isin the vicinity of IIT and IIM Jammu overlooking theInternational Zoo at Panjgrain. The proposed cost ofthe IT Park in the first phase is Rs 50 Crore.

The Advisor directed officers to expedite the processof setting up of the IT Park so that the entrepreneurswould be provided state of art facilities both at Jammuand Srinagar. He said that the Government is keen tocatalyze the industrial scenario in the Union territoryof Jammu and Kashmir by way of various interven-tions and these parks are also a part of the initiatives.

STATE TIMES NEWSJAMMU: A webinar'Become Job Creators thanJob Seekers' aimed atawaring the freshPolytechnic pass-outs withregard to the variousschemes being implement-ed by Industries &Commerce Department-under Central & Statepackages was on Thursdayorganized by the DistrictIndustries Centre, Jammu.

The participants werebriefed about the self-employment schemesincluding Prime MinisterEmployment GenerationProgramme [PMEGP].

The online event wasorganized on the directionsof Manoj Kumar Dwivedi,Commissioner / SecretaryIndustries & Commerce,and Anoo Malhotra,Director Industries &Commerce, Jammu underthe overall guidance ofSubah Mehta, GeneralManager, DistrictIndustries Centre, Jammuin collaboration with theGovernment PolytechnicCollege, Jammu.

Er Arun Mangotra,Principal, Er Shoket Ali,Technical Coordinator andEr. Jasdep Kour of GovtPolytechnic College,Jammu also participatedin the session.

The students were madeaware about how to becomeself reliant by generatingemployment for themselvesand also become employ-ment generators for othersby availing benefits underthe "Prime MinisterEmployment GenerationProgramme".

The objective of thescheme is to generate con-tinuous and sustainableemployment opportunitiesin Rural and Urban areasfor traditional andprospective artisans, ruraland urban unemployedyouths through setting upof Micro / SmallEnterprises and also tofacilitate participation.

The subsidy underPMEGP Scheme rangesfrom 10-30% and loanupto Rs 25 lakh. UnderPMEGP-II, for substantialexpansion, loans upto Rs 1crore can be availed forexisting PMEGP benefici-aries, the participants weretold.

The participants werealso made aware that theycan undertake Micro proj-ects under PMEGP likeGymnasium, Restaurants,Xerox Centres, Shuttering,Saloons, Wood Work, AttaChakki and many moreactivities and those whichcome under the purview ofManufacturing and serviceSectors within the projectlimit of Rs. 25.00 lakh.

For starting own ventureas Micro/SmallEnterprises under themanufacturing / servicesector, both in Rural &Urban Areas, the govern-ment provides various sub-sidies viz. 100% subsidy onDG set, 3% interest sub-sidy, 100% subsidy on lab-oratory / testing equip-ments, 60% subsidy onPollution Control Devicesetc. under State Packageand 30% CapitalInvestment Subsidy onPlant & Machinery, 100%Insurance Subsidy, 3%Interest Subsidy, GSTReimbursement, IncomeTax reimbursement etc.under IDS-2017 of CentralPackage.

The WEBINAR wasattended by about 60 par-ticipants and during thelive session, queries anddoubts were cleared to agreat extent.
