Communities In Schools Launches at Milford Central Academ

Milford Central Academy enjoyed a successful first month with thirty-five 8th

9th grade students. In the first month, Site Director Kia Lockhart has significa

acclimated her cohort to the CIS Model and Five Basics. At MCA, the prog

currently meets within a class setting several times a week. The class is separ

by gender, allowing the male and female students to openly share and explore

program. We would like to thank Milford School District Superintendent Sh

Kanter, Principal Tricia Martin, Assistant Principal Susan McGlothan, and Dis

Mentor Coordinator Craig Warrington for highlighting the value of our programexpressing their commitment to forging a valuable partnership with CIS.

We believe that every

child needs and deserves

the Five Basics :

1. A one-on-one

relationship with a

caring adult

2. A safe place to learn

and grow

3. A health start and

healthy future

4. A marketable skill to

use upon graduation

5. A chance to give

back to peers and

community.

CSI school-based

programs are designed toprovide students with at

least one of these REAL

basics.
