Narrow Little RoadI believe in the love of God

It is an orphan’s wildest dreamIt is a narrow little road

It is an ever-widening desert stream

Oh I, and I, I will leave this roadFor the narrow

(x2)

It is portrayed in the bread and wineLet it fortify my bones

It is more than just a signIt is the fountain from the desert stone

Oh I, and I, I will leave this roadFor the narrow

(x2)

The love of God is the hymn of hopeLet the needy join the throngLet the fallen take the rope

Let the cripple rise to sing the song

Oh I, and I, I will leave this roadFor the narrow

(x2)

It is the path where the humble goIt is the narrow not the broadIt is the pathway up the hill

To the graveyard of the living God

Oh I, and I, I will leave this roadFor the narrow

(x3)

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by

what we have done, and by what we have left undone.

We have not loved you with our whole heart;

We often value the gifts You give us over You.

We confess and lament that we have offended Your Almighty name.

We confess that it was our sin that drove your Son, Jesus, to the

cross.With sorrow we deplore our

wickedness.Guilty and condemned,

we confess: “You bled by our hands.”

O Sacred Head, Now WoundedO Sacred Head, now wounded,

With grief and shame weighed down,Now scornfully surrounded

with thorns, Thine only crown.

How pale art Thou with anguish, with sore abuse and scorn!

Oh how your face bears sorrow which once was bright as morn.

Men mock and taunt and jeer Thee, Thou noble countenance,

Though mighty worlds shall fear Thee and flee before Thy glance.

Grim death, with cruel rigor, hath robbed Thee of Thy life;Thus Thou has lost Thy vigor, Thy strength, in this sad strife.

You bled by our hands. You bled by our hands.

You bled by our hands. You bled.

My burdens You have carried,My sins You have borne.

For it was my transgressionThat brought this woe and scorn.

I cast me down before Thee,Wrath my rightful lot,

But You who have sweet mercy – Redeemer on the cross.

You bled by our hands. You bled by our hands.

You bled by our hands. You bled.(x2)

For me. For you. For us.(x3)

When soul and body languish,Oh, leave me not alone,

But take away mine anguishBy virtue of Thine own!

What language shall I borrowTo thank Thee, dearest Friend,

For this, Thy dying sorrow, Thy pity without end?

All Glory Be to ChristShould nothing of our efforts stand,

No legacy survive;Unless the Lord does raise the

house,In vain its builders strive.

To you who boast tomorrow’s gain,Tell me, what is your life?

A mist that vanishes at dawn;All glory be to Christ!

All glory be to Christ our King!All glory be to Christ!

His rule and reign we’ll ever sing!All glory be to Christ!

His will be done, His kingdom comeOn earth as is above!

Who is Himself our Daily Bread.Praise Him, the Lord of Love!

Let Living Water satisfy the thirsty without price!

We’ll take a cup of kindness yet,All glory be to Christ!

All glory be to Christ our King!All glory be to Christ!

His rule and reign we’ll ever sing!All glory be to Christ!

When, on that day, the Great I Am,The Faithful and the True,

The Lamb who was for sinners slainIs making all things new!

Behold our God shall live with usAnd be our Steadfast Light!

And we shall ere His people be,All glory be to Christ!

All glory be to Christ our King!All glory be to Christ!

His rule and reign we’ll ever sing!All glory be to Christ!

MEANING (LESS): “Cigars to Go Around”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-15Sermon notes @ http://bible.com/e/1381

Ecclesiastes 3:1-15For everything there is a season, and a time for

every matter under heaven:2 a time to be born, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

3 a time to kill, and a time to heal;a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 a time to seek, and a time to lose;a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7 a time to tear, and a time to sew;a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8 a time to love, and a time to hate;a time for war, and a time for peace.

9 What gain has the worker from his toil?

10 I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He

has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. 12 I perceived that there

is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live;

13 also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to

man.14 I perceived that whatever God does endures

forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him. 15 That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been;

and God seeks what has been driven away.

Ecclesiastes 3:9-11What gain has the worker from his toil?

10I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He

Gospel Application:1) What season are we in and are we seeking God in it, whether pleasing or

painful? 2) Do you know that God created each season

to refine us and cause us to look away from ourselves and circumstance and to Him?

3) How will the Gospel cause us to live fully enjoying God for who He is

standing in awe of what He has done and promises to continue to do?

Do this in remembrance of me…

2 Corinthians 9:7Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion,

for God loves a cheerful giver.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26For I received from the Lord what I also

delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, 24 and

when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this

in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup

is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of

me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's

death until he comes.

Jesus, Savior, Pilot MeJesus, Savior, pilot me over life’s

tempestuous sea.Unknown waves before me roll,

Hiding rock and treacherous shoal.Chart and compass come from Thee;

Savior, pilot me.

Though the sea be smooth and bright,Sparkling with the stars of night,

And my ship’s path be ablazeWith the light of halcyon days,Still I know my need of Thee;

Savior pilot me.

As a mother stills her child,Thou canst hush the ocean wild;Boisterous waves obey Thy will,

When Thou says to them, “Be still!”Wondrous Sovereign of the Sea,

Savior, pilot me.

When at last I near the shore,And the fearful breakers roar.Grace so vast, so rich, so free

Brings us home to reign with Thee.

May I hear Thee say to me, “I will pilot Thee.”

Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead UsSavior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need Thy tender care;

In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our use Thy folds prepare.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

We are Thine, do Thou befriend us, be the guardian of our way;

Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us, seek us when we go astray.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray.Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Hear, O hear us when we pray.

Thou hast promised to receive us, poor and sinful though we be;Thou hast mercy to relieve us,

grace to cleanse and power to free.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Let us early turn to Thee.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Let us early turn to Thee.

Early let us seek Thy favor, early let us do Thy will;

Blessed Lord and only Savior, with Thy love our hearts now fill.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast loved us, love us still.Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus!

Thou hast loved us, love us still.

Come Thou FountCome, Thou Fount of every blessing,

Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;Streams of mercy, never ceasing, Call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet, Sung by flaming tongues above.

Praise His name - I’m fixed upon it -Name of God’s redeeming love.

Here I raise my Ebenezer; hither by Thy help I’ve come;

And I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home.

Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God;He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood;

O to grace how great a debtor, Daily I’m constrained to be!

Let Thy goodness, like a shackle; Bind my wandering heart to Thee.

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,Prone to leave the God I love;

Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,Seal it for Thy courts above.

Oh, that day when freed from sinning, I shall see Thy lovely face.

Full arrayed in blood-washed linen, How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace.

Come, my Lord, no longer tarry;Bring Thy promises to pass

For I know Thy power will keep me ‘Til I’m home with Thee at last.

For I know Thy power will keep me ‘Til I’m home with Thee at last.

Absent from FleshAbsent from flesh – O, blissful

thought—What joy that moment brings.

Freed from the blame my sin has brought;

from pain and death and its sting.

Absent from flesh, O glorious day!In one triumphant stroke:

My reckoning paid, my charges dropped,And the bonds ‘round my hands are broke!

I go where God and and glory shine,To one eternal day;

And this failing body I now resignFor the Christ has made a way!For the Christ has made a way!

Absent from flesh, then rise my soulWhere feet nor wings could climb;Beyond the sky, where planets roll,

And beyond all keep of time!

I go where God and and glory shine,To one eternal day;

And this failing body I now resignFor the Christ has made a way!For the Christ has made a way!

Absent from flesh, then see thy GodWith eyes unveiled and free!

We’ll face to face His glory laud,And radiance ever see!

I go where God and and glory shine,To one eternal day;

And this failing body I now resignFor the Christ has made a way!

I go where God and and glory shine,To one eternal day;

And this failing body I now resignFor the Christ has made a way!For the Christ has made a way!For the Christ has made a way!For the Christ has made a way!
