WHO AM I? WHAT AM I CALLED TO?
What is my Identity “In Christ?”
WHO AM I “IN CHRIST?”
2 Corinthians 5:
16 So from
now on we
regard no one
from a worldly
point of view…
WHO AM I “IN CHRIST?”
2 Corinthians 5:
16 So from now on we
regard no one from a
worldly point of view…
17 Therefore, if anyone
is in Christ, he is a new
creation; the old has
gone, the new has come!
Ephesians 4:
17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the
Lord, that you must no longer
live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of
their thinking.
18 They are darkened in their
understanding and separated from the life
of God
because of the ignorance that is in
them due to the hardening of their
hearts.
19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have
given themselves over to sensuality
so as to indulge in every kind of
impurity, with a continual lust for more.
Ephesians 4:
20 You, however, did not come
to know Christ that way.
21 Surely you heard of him and
were taught in him in
accordance with the truth
that is in Jesus.
22 You were taught, with regard
to your former way of life, to put
off your
old self,
which is being corrupted by its
deceitful desires;
Ephesians 4:
23 To be made new in
the attitude of your
minds;
24 And to put on the
new self, created to be like God in
true righteousness and
holiness.
Romans 6
3 Or don't you know that all of us
who were baptized into Christ
Jesus were baptized into his
death?
4 We were therefore buried with
him through baptism into death in
order that, just as Christ was
raised from the dead through the
glory of the Father, we too may
live a new life.
5 If we have been united with
him like this in his death, we will
certainly
also be united with him in his
resurrection.
6 For we know that our old self
was crucified with him so that the
body of sin might be done away
with
Galatians 2
20 I have been crucified with Christ and
I no longer live,
but Christ lives in
me. The life I live in the body, I live by
faith in the Son of God, who
loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 6
14 May I never boast
except in the cross of
our Lord Jesus Christ,
through
which the world has
been crucified to me,
and I to the world.
Colossians 3
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things
above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on
things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now
hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you
also will appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3
3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3
4 When Christ, who is your life, appears,
then you also will appear with him in glory.
Romans 7
15 I do not understand
what I do. For what I
want to do I do not do,
but what I hate I do.
16 And if I do what I do
not want to do, I agree
that the law is good.
17 As it is, it is no
longer I myself who do
it, but it is sin living in
me.
Romans 7
18 I know that nothing good
lives in me, that is, in my
sinful nature. For I
have the desire to do what
is good, but I cannot carry it
out.
19 For what I do is not the
good I want to do; no, the evil
I do not want to do
- this I keep on doing.
20 Now if I do what I do not
want to do, it is no longer I
who do it, but it is
sin living in me that does
it.
Me (Old Self)
Sin
Romans 7
21 So I find this law at
work: When I want to do
good, evil is right there
with me.
22 For in my inner
being I delight in God's
law;
Christ
Me (New Self)
Inner Being
Romans 7
23 But I see another
law at work in the
members of my
body, waging war
against
the law of my
mind and making me
a prisoner of the law
of sin at work within
my members.
Me (Old Self)
Sin
Romans 7
24 What a wretched man I am!
Who will rescue me from this
body of death?
25 Thanks be to God - through
Jesus Christ our Lord! So then,
I myself in my
mind am a slave to God's law,
but in the sinful nature a slave to
the law of sin.
Romans 8
1 Therefore, there is now no
condemnation for those who are
in Christ Jesus,

“The Body
of death”
The Old Man & New
Man are still both called
“ME”
But from God’s
perspective He knows
we will one day be free
from the body and
delivered from the “old
man” all together.
He sees us as “In
Christ” free from the
sinful nature
