Theaters were usually small in size.
Although they were small they held very large audiences of 2-3 thousand.

There were no roofs on the theaters except on the stage
They called the roof “the heavens.”

Other famous public playhouses include the Curtain, the Fortune, the Rose, the Swan, the Globe, and the Hope.
The Globe was built from wood from the Theatre.
A second Globe was built after the first on burned down.
