We are located in Des armes, a small village about 62km north of the capital,

Port au Prince, with approximately 7000 inhabitants.

Shelter of Hope Ministries

• Share the love of God with the poor

• Provide basic needs such as food and shelter to the poorest in our community

• To empower the people to improve their lives through educational opportunities

• To be a comforting and healing

presence in our community

Shelter of Hope seeks to alleviate and one day solve these issues for its poorest neighbors.

• Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere.

• Living conditions for every Haitian is chaotic.

• Most have no cash.

• Potable water can be expensive if there is access.

• There are not enough jobs.

• Serves 200+ Adults & Children

• Provides 6 Different ministries on a consistent basis

• Offers local church services

• Works with neighboring community to meet its needs

• Is a point of light for those in need

• Founder and Executive Director

• Completed YWAM Discipleship Training in Texas

• Works as an interpreter for UMVIM 2-3 times a month

• Uses money earned to support Shelter of Hope

• He and his brother are orphaned

• Takes Medical School classes, in hope to provide medical services to his community.

Shelter of Hope Ministries: Reaching out to the People

• Foster Program

• Student Sponsorship Program

Foster ProgramSupports 36 kids fostered in homes in the area

• Provides financial support

• Same kids are part of other ministries

• Program is difficult to manage with kids spread out

• Ideally use facilities to house most of foster kids with foster moms

Student Sponsorships

Student Sponsorship ProgramAssists children with full and partial tuition who would otherwise not have an opportunity to attend school.

• 19 children are currently sponsored.

• 25 additional children are in need

• Costs $30/month for 9 months or $270/school year.• Attend classes• Get required uniform• School Books and Supplies• Worm Medication• Access to a Nurse

Hot Meal Program

• 40-50 Haitian Children & Adults receive a hot meal.

• Served Wednesdays and Saturdays

• To provide 1 meal costs $60 for the group

• Lunch: Rice and Beans and Juice

Teaching English as a Second Language

• 50 students, all age children

• 20-25 Adult students

• 2 Staff

• Year-Round

• Materials are provided as available

• Staff costs - $200 month

Clothing Ministry

60-100 kids receive used clothes bought in Port-Au-Prince, 3-4 times/year distributed after local church services in the area.

Dental HygieneToothbrush & toothpaste are distributed monthly to small

groups of children who are taught proper brushing technique.

Extension of Ministry to Gadere• Approximately 3000 living in this community up in Mountain

• Has worked with others to provide a well for potable water

• Has helped cleared “road” for easier access

• Shelter of Hope is duly registered as an agency with the Department of Labor in Verrettes to be renewed in September 2016.
