Presentation given by ProjectCSGIRLS founder/CEO, Pooja Chandrashekar, at the 2014 O'Reilly Velocity New York Conference as part of the Ignite session. Her talk discussed why girls turn away from computer science and technology-related fields, how and why we should address this problem, and how ProjectCSGIRLS (www.projectcsgirls.com) is working to close the tech gender gap. ProjectCSGIRLS is a national nonprofit organization that runs the nation's largest computer science competition for middle school girls.
