1 GENERAL INFORMATION
General Information section explains in general terms the system and the purpose for which it is intended.
1.1 SYSTEM OVERVIEW
1. Author will create a notice under his unit and assigned the reviewer to his unit.
2. Author will be able to edit notice until notice has been approved by Reviewer.
3. Once notice is created, email notification will be send to both author and reviewer for informing that
notice have been successfully created.
4. Reviewer can edit the created notice if there are any changes then he can review the notice by
approving or reject.
5. Once approved, author & reviewer can’t edit the notice. To edit approved notice, reviewer have to
withdraw the notice.
6. Once withdrawn, the email notification will be send to author to make amendment/edit. Then, the
author need to submit again and reviewer have to approve the notice again.
7. Any approved notice that has interruption and interrupt with GenSet set will be pushed to TNB Website
Power Alert for customer view.

1.2 ROLES AND USER ACCESS LEVELS
Only registered system users are able to access and use the system for its defined purposes. The registered

Author for specific unit and subzone can only create notice that can be reviewed by reviewer in that specific
and subzone only .
Izhar can create notice for subzone A1 for unit Asset Development only and will be reviewed by Reviewer
Subzone A1, Azman as Izhar assigned the reviewer to Azman only. Other reviewer than Azman cant approve
on behalf of Azman.
Any author in subzone A1 under same unit can edit notice that has been created by Izhar. For example,
Azaman can edit review that has been submitted by Izhar.
Manager has role like reviewer but by zone and has power or authority for all notices under the zone specific
by unit.

2 GETTING STARTED
Getting Started section explains how to access SNMS on the web browser. The section also briefly presents
the system menu.
2.1 ACCESSING THE URL
Please access to your internet browser (modern browsers e.g.: Internet Explorer 8 and above, Google Chrome,
Mozilla Firefox and etc.) by double clicking the icon on your Desktop view or by selecting it from your Start
Menu > Program List.
1. Type in the URL address below at the address field of your chosen internet browser:
http://snms.hq.tnb.com.my/
2. Your screen will now be directed to the main screen (landing page) of the Shutdown notice
Management System (SNMS) as illustrated below (Figure 1: Main Screen).

2.2 LOGIN TO SNMS BOX
The Login Box (Figure 3.2) is located at the right hand-side of the main page. Login refers to the credentials
required to obtain access to SNMS that is controlled by identifying and authentication the user through the
credentials presented by the user.

3 STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE SYSTEM
3.1 LOGGING ON AND OFF SNMS
1. At the SNMS main page, you will see the Login to SNMS Box on your right hand-side.
2. Click on the Username field and type-in your TNB Staff Number.
3. Click on the Password field and type-in your TNB Email Password
4. Click the LOGIN button

5. The system will be authenticating your login credentials with TNB Active Directory Server and load your
personalized page.
6. Your Picture (if any), Staff Number or Name will be displayed on the top right hand-side of the main
navigation menu bar to distinguish that you are currently logged into the system.
3.1.1 INCORRECT LOGIN CREDENTIALS KEYED-IN
1. In the case that you have keyed-in an incorrect login credentials, you will be prompted with an error
message at the top of the page.
2. Re-type the correct login credentials at the Login to OVIS Box.
3. Click the LOGIN button.
4. Should you are still facing errors or difficulties to login, please contact SNM Admin.
3.1.2 LOGGING OFF SNMS

1. Click on the button on top right hand-side of the navigation bar.
2. You will be displayed with a drop-down menu.
3. Click Logout from the drop-down menu.
4. You will be automatically logged-out from SNMS and your page will be redirected to the main landing
page.

3.2 SYSTEM NAVIGATION MENU
1. The fixed navigation is colored in dark blue background on the left screen. Please do note that the
number of Menu displayed here depends on the access rights set to your login account by Administrator
(HQ Department or ICT). Not everyone will see the full Eleven (11) menu item displayed
Dashboard will display all notices for all zones
While the left panel such as All Notices, Draft Notices, Submitted Notices, Approved Notices, Rejected
Notices, Withdrawn Notices, Completed Notices and Deleted Notice will display all notice in your
subzone/ access area only.
Menu Type Remarks
Dashboard Will display statistic of notices
All Notices Will display all Draft Notices, Submitted Notices, Approved Notices, Rejected Notices, Withdrawn Notices, Completed Notices and Deleted Notice in your access area
Draft Notices Will display all notice that still haven’t been submitted in your access area
Submitted Notices Will display all notice that have been submitted your access area
Approved Notices Will display all notice that have been approved by Reviewer your access area
Rejected Notices Will display all notice that have been rejected your access area
Withrawn Notices Will display all notice that have been withdrawn your access area
Completed Notices Will display all notice that have been completed in your access area.
Deleted Notices Will display all notice that have been deleted in your access area

5. A breadcrumb trail that indicates the location of the user within the site hierarchy is shown on the right.
The navigation link here is clickable and offers users a way to trace the path back to their original landing
point.
3.3 SORTING, FILTERING AND PAGINATION OF TABLE DATA
3.3.1 SORTING THE TABLE DA TA IN ASCENDING AND DESCENDING ORDER
1. You may sort the table data in alphabetical order or from highest to lowest values (or vice versa).
2. Click on any of the column title once to sort the data in ascending order. (e.g.: Title)
3. A indicator will be displayed next to the column title to show that the column has been sorted
descendent. (e.g.: Title column)
4. Click it again to sort the data in ascending order and the indicator will display next to the column
title. (e.g.: Title column)

3.3.2 FILTERING THE TABLE DATA (TEXT, STATUS A ND DATE)
1. You may filter the table data (text, status and date) by clicking the filter icon on any of the available
column. (e.g.: Ref No column)
2. The filter option will be displayed.
3. At the ‘Show items with value that:’ field, you are required to select the conditions that matches your
criteria of search from the drop down list available.
4. Type-in the keyword of the item for search in the field provided. (e.g.:TEST-0000097)

5. Specifically for Date columns (e.g.: Date), you may key-in the date in DD/MM/YYYY or click on the
datepicker to select the date from a calendar-based view instead.
3.3.3 DISPLAY ITEMS AND PA GINATION OF TABLE DA TA
1. Click on any of the page number available or use the next or previous icon to switch between pages.

3.4 PERFORMING REVIEWER ROLE
3.4.1 REVIEW EXISTING LIST OF NOTICES CREATED
1. User able to view the list of all notices, Click on All Notices at the Side navigation menu.
2. The All Notices page will displayed.
3. Click View button at Action Column
4. You will redirect to Notice Details page. And Reference No for notice will automatically give by system.
5. And Click Edit button at actions. And you will redirect to Edit Detail Page. Refer 4.4.1.1
6. Or Click Review button at actions, And you will redirect to Review Detail Page Refer 4.4.1.2

2. Click Save button and you also can add Affected Areas will displays after you click save button. And Click
Add new Record

3. Affected Area insert field will be shown.
4. Click on the Select Station field and a dropdown list of station displayed for selection.
5. Click on the PE field and dropdown list of PE is displayed.
6. The row can be save or remove as required by clicking on the ‘’ symbol or the ` ⊘ ` icon respectively
7. Click Pencil button in Action column to edit Affected Area.

8. You will redirect to Notice Details page.
1. The Review Notices form will displayed
2. You have to select radio button either Approval or Rejected and fill in Remark
3. Click Update Review button once complete.

3.4.2 REVIEW SUBMITTED NOTICES (APPROVED)
1. User able to view the list of all notices, Click on Approved Notices at the Side navigation menu.
2. The Approved Notices page will displayed.
3. Click View button at Action Column
4. The Notice Details will be displayed.

1. Click on Withdraw button in Action
2. The Withdraw Notice will be displayed
3. Fill In Remark at Withdraw and Click button Withdraw Notice
4. Everyone is allowed to view and print notices & forms. Click on Notis Gangguan Bekalan and you will
able to view the notice/form details. Save or print the pdf version

3.4.3 VIEW SUBMITTED NOTICES (REJECTED)
1. User able to view the list of all notices, Click on Rejected Notices at the Side navigation menu.
2. The Rejected Notices page will displayed.
3. Click View button at Action Column
4. The Notice Details will be displayed.
5. And Click Edit button at actions. And you will redirect to Edit Detail Page. (Refer 4.4.1.1)
6. Or Click Review button at actions, And you will redirect to Review Detail Page (Refer 4.4.1.2)

7. User able to view the list of all notices, Click on Withdrawn Notices at the Side navigation menu.

1. User able to view the list of all notices, Click on Deleted Notices at the Side navigation menu.

3.5.1 OVERALL ZONE REPORT
1. User able to view the list of all notices, Click on Overall Zone Report at the Side navigation menu.
2. The Overall Zone Report page will displayed.
3. Select the Shutdown Date From using datepicker or type in using the “dd/mm/yy” format
4. Select the Shutdown Date To using datepicker or type in using the “dd/mm/yy” format

1. User able to view the list of all notices, Click on Overall Sub-Zone Report at the Side navigation menu.

3. Select the Shutdown Date From using datepicker or type in using the “dd/mm/yy” format
4. Select the Shutdown Date To using datepicker or type in using the “dd/mm/yy” format

3.6 PRINTING REPORT
1. You are allowed to print any of the report generated if required (individually) from the Report Menu.
2. Click on the Print ( ) icon.
3. You will be redirected to the Print Page (web or system dialog).
4. Printer destination is defaulted to user’s printer settings. You may select a different printer if required by
clicking Change.. Button.

5. Click the Print button. The report is printed as per the settings made.
3.7 EXPORTING REPORT
1. You are allowed to print any of the report generated if required (individually) from the Report
Menu.
2. Click on the icon.
3. A dropdown menu is displayed for the file format selection. Select the type of file format to
your preference.
4. The report will be automatically created and saved to your default save location (usually in Local
or Downloads)
