�WHY USE IT? To examine a character’s internal conflict.

�When you are reading and a character asks him/herself a really difficult questiondifficult question

�These are important moments of internal conflict in a story!

EXAMPLE:

“A vampire? What am I doing with doing with my life?” thought Bella.

� THEN WHAT?

� After you note a tough question, ask yourself the following question:

What does What does

this make

me wonder

about?

The answers to that

question will tell you question will tell you about the character’s

internal conflict and may help you predict later

events.

Always, STOP! Notice and Note:
