SITE SELECTION & LAYOUT PLANNINGBy: Shikari Martin

PURPOSE

The purpose of the site selection process and layout planning is finding a nice area to place my business and creating a layout that accommodates the type of business that I have.

GOOGLE MAP

TRADE AREA

A trade area is a region or section of the community from which you expect to draw customers. My trade area is shaded in yellow. (Conyers and surrounding cities)

COMPETITORS

A competitor is an organization or country that is engaged in commercial or economic competition with others. My competitors are marked with a blue “x”. Some of the competitors I chose were Rue21, Stonecrest Mall, and Ross.

TRAFFIC

The traffic around my business is represented by the green lines. Most of the traffic builds up by the highways and decreases as you go further out.

POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS

My potential customers are inside the red boarders. I chose Rockdale because my business is in Conyers and Lithonia because it is right next to Rockdale and maybe customers will travel here if the products I sell are worth it.

FLOOR PLAN (CONTINUED)

I chose a circular floor plan because it sets my business apart from my competitors. I also chose to build my store the way I did because the flow and the setting of it is perfect for retail.
