Uses for TRIALMAⅡ
TRIALMAⅡ is a laser system for use by individuals with lighter skin tones.
(See Skin Tone Chart on inside front cover). TRIALMAⅡworks on skin
areas with naturally brown or black hair. Areas where TRIALMAⅡcan be
used include underarms, bikini lines, arms, legs, and women’s upper lips.
Both women and men can use TRIALMAⅡ.
TRIALMAⅡ removes hair by emitting a pulse of light that is absorbed by
pigment in the hair shaft beneath the skin surface. This disables the hair
follicle and temporarily delays hair growth.
TRIALMAⅡ is not for everyone. TRIALMAⅡ is safe only for people
with lighter skin tones and is effective only on naturally brown or black hair.
Additionally, individuals with certain skin conditions and those using
certain medications should not use TRIALMAⅡ. Use the following table

Benefits & Risks
This section describes the benefits and risks of TRIALMAⅡ. Some people
should not use TRIALMAⅡ. For these people, the risks of using
TRIALMAⅡ do not outweigh the benefits.
The benefits and risks of TRIALMAⅡ are related to the way that
TRIALMAⅡ works. TRIALMAⅡ removes hair by pigment in the hair
13
shaft beneath the skin surface. If the hair has enough pigment, this
absorption heats the hair follicle and disables the hair follicle.
Within one to two weeks after using TRIALMAⅡ, the hair typically begins
to fall out (be 'ejected ' from the skin) . Hair regrowth may then be delayed
for several weeks or more following use. The hair that regrows may be
lighter and finer. Most of the risk in using TRIALMAⅡ is the risk of skin
injury due to heating of the skin , however other less common side effects
such as changes in skin color and skin infection can also occur.
The specific benefits and risks listed below are based upon a safety and
efficacy study of TRIALMAⅡ. In this study, users performed three laser
hair removal sessions that were spaced three weeks apart . The number of
hairs at each body area were counted before each session and at one months
after the last session.
Benefits
For appropriate users (people with lighter skin tones and brown or black
hair in the skin area where TRIALMAⅡ was used), TRIALMAⅡ has the
following possible benefits:
A reduction in the number of hairs after one use. In the safety and
efficacy study , three weeks after the first use, there was an average of 61%
14
fewer hairs.
Consistent hair reduction with repeated use. In the safety and
efficacy study, three weeks after the second laser hair removal session,
there was an average of 70% fewer hairs.
Hair reduction that lasts for one to two months. In the safety and
efficacy study, one month after the last laser hair removal session, there was
an average of 60% fewer hairs.
Hair that regrows is finer and lighter. In the safety and efficacy
study , 69 of 79 users(87%) reported finer hair one month after the last
laser hair removal session. 55 of 79 users(70%) reported lighter hair one
month after the last laser hair removal session.
Results will vary by user and by body site(s)where TRIALMAⅡ
is used. In the safety and efficacy study, some users had little to no hair
removal while other users had nearly complete hair removal. Some
variation is due to how well users followed the instructions in using
TRIALMAⅡ.
Proper use of TRIALMAⅡ is important in getting good results. Please see
following information on how to get the best results.
15
Risks
If you use TRIALMAⅡ on or near the eyes, you may cause serious
eye injury. DO NOT use TRIALMAⅡ on eyebrows, eyelashes, eyeballs,
or eyelids. DO NOT use within the bony orbit of the eye. DO NOT use on
your forehead, temples, cheek bones, above the nostrils or between the eyes
or eyebrows.
You may feel burning, tingling, itching, or pain in the skin area while
using TRIALMAⅡ.
* Mild to moderate pain or discomfort is normal during use. In the
safety and efficacy study, almost all users(96%) with lighter skin
tones(people who can safely use TRIALMAⅡ) reported mild to moderate
pain the first time they used TRIALMAⅡ. After the first use, the pain level
reported by users decreased.
* Severe or unbearable pain is NOT normal. If you experience anything
more than moderate pain, immediately stop using TRIALMAⅡ.
Unbearable or severe pain while using TRIALMAⅡ may mean that you
may be causing serious damage to you skin.
You skin may become red right after using TRIALMAⅡ or within 24
hours of using TRIALMAⅡ. Redness generally clears up within 24 hours.
About 1 out of 3 users(33%) in the safety and efficacy study experienced
16
some skin redness after use. See your doctor if the skin redness does not go
away within 2 to 3 days.
You may have some permanent hair reduction in the skin area. Hair
removed with TRIALMAⅡ may not grow back.
You may have skin swelling, especially around the hair follicle. No
users (0 out of 88) in the safety and efficacy study experienced skin
swelling. However, other hair removal lasers are known to cause skin
swelling. If your skin swells around the hair follicle or in the area where
TRIALMAⅡ was used, it should go away within 24 hours. Stop using
TRIALMAⅡ and see your doctor if the skin swelling is not gone within 2
to 3 days.
You may have temporary or permanent changes in skin pigmentation
(color of your skin).
* In the safety and efficacy study, no users(0 out of 88) with lighter skin
tones(people who can safely use TRIALMAⅡ) had changes in skin
pigmentation However, other hair removal lasers have been known to cause
changes to skin pigmentation. If you develop changes in your skin
pigmentation, stop using TRIALMAⅡ and see your doctor.
* The risk of changes in skin pigmentation is higher for people with darker
17
skin tones. In the safety and efficacy study, some users who had a skin tone
darker than recommended for TRIALMAⅡ (people who should NOT use
TRIALMAⅡ) had changes to skin pigmentation after a light pulse on the
HIGH setting.
You may develop skin burns, blisters or scarring.
* In the safety and efficacy study, no users (o out of 88) with lighter skin
tones (people who can safely use TRIALMAⅡ) had skin burns or blisters.
However, other hair removal lasers have been known to cause skin burns or
blister. If you develop a burn or blister, stop using TRIALMAⅡ and see
your doctor promptly.
* The risk of skin burns or blisters is higher for people with darker skin
tones. In the safety and efficacy study, 11 of 44 users(25%) who had a skin
tone darker than recommended for TRIALMAⅡ (people who should NOT
use TRIALMAⅡ) developed a burn or a blister after a light pulse on the
HIGH setting.
If you develop burns or blisters, you might develop a skin infection,
which can cause serious injury.
* In the safety and efficacy study, no users (0 out of 88) with lighter skin
tones(people who can safely use TRIALMAⅡ) experienced skin infections.
However, there have been reports of infection with other laser products so
infection is a potential risk. Therefore, you should not use TRIALMAⅡ if
18
you have an active skin disease, sunburn, peeling skin, open sores, a skin
rash, active lesions from psoriasis or other skin diseases, a prior history of
skin cancer, or are taking medications that may cause your skin to be
sensitive to light.
About Hair Growth and Laser Hair Removal
Hair growth is a continuous cycle that occurs in three phases and varies
among individuals and specific areas of the body. Results will depend on
your skin type and color, hair type and color, and what initially caused the
hair to grow. Laser hair removal is most effective when done on hairs that
are in the anagen or active growth stage. During this stage, the hair contains
an abundance of pigment(melanin) which absorbs the light pulse and
disrupts the hair growth cycle.
Because your hair grows in different phases, repeat hair removal sessions
are necessary. Usually once every 2 to 4 weeks to achieve best results. Each
laser hair removal session may result in less hair regrowth. The hair that
does return becomes progressively lighter and finer with each use.
Although it may appear that the hair is still growing after each laser hair
removal session ,the hair inside each disabled follicle is slowly being
"ejected" from the skin. It generally takes 2-3 weeks for these hairs to be
19
ejected from the skin. Additionally, hairs that were not in the anagen or
"active" growth phase during the previous laser hair removal session will
continue to grow and will need to be covered again during the next session.
For best results, the use of TRIALMAⅡ on the same skin areas should be
performed several weeks apart.
USING TRIALMAⅡ
When Connect TRIALMAⅡ with adapter, there will be a notice
invoice and indicator light. It means TRIALMAⅡ are ready to work.

Using TRIALMAⅡ
Note: Perform a skin patch test 24 hours before using TRIALMAⅡ. To
perform a skin patch test, fire 1-2 shots in the grade5 setting on a part of the
body you plan to treat. (See Steps 1-9 below for instructions on how to use
TRIALMAⅡ.)
DO NOT use TRIALMAⅡ If after 24 hours, you notice blistering,
burns, scarring, skin pigment changes or any other adverse effects or if you
are unsure of the outcome of the skin patch test. Consult a physician before
using this device.
If the skin appears normal 24 hours after the skin patch test, proceed with
the following:
Shave the entire skin area before using TRIALMAⅡ. Shaving reduces
the pain during use and the chance of injuring your skin by removing the
surface hair.
Remove all cosmetics, lotions, and creams, and clean the skin area
before use.
Wipe your skin with a cool, damp cloth.
If desired, press the POWER button to adjust the power setting. Each
21
time the button is pressed, the next setting will light up. TRIALMAⅡ will
beep once for the grade1 setting, twice for the grade2 setting, three times
for grade3 setting, four times for grade4 setting, and five times for grade5
setting.
If using TRIALMAⅡ for the first time, you should start with the LOW
setting and increase to the MEDIUM or HIGH settings based on your
comfort level. For the best results, use the highest setting that is
comfortable for you.
Note: It is normal for the fan to turn on and off while you are using
TRIALMAⅡ.
DO NOT use TRIALMAⅡ on darker skin tones (medium brown,
dark brown, or black skin). Darker skin tones absorb too much laser light.
Using TRIALMAⅡ on medium brown, dark brown , or black skin can
result in burns, blisters, scars, and skin color changes. This includes
individuals who have recently tanned or used a self tanner on their skin. See
Skin Tone Chart on inside front cover to determine your skin tone.
DO NOT use TRIALMAⅡ if you have an active skin disease,
sunburn, peeling skin, open sores, a skin rash, active lesions from psoriasis
or other skin diseases, a prior history of skin cancer, or are taking
22
medications that may cause your skin to be sensitive to light.
To avoid possible serious eye injury, DO NOT use TRIALMAⅡ on
eyebrows, eyelashes, eyeballs, or eyelids. DO NOT use within the bony
orbit of the eye. DO NOT use on your forehead, temples, cheek bones,
above the nostrils or between the eyes or eyebrows.
Place TRIALMAⅡ’s output window contacts the skin closely, So that
the contact sensor can work well. TRIALMAⅡwill beep twice in gentle
rhythm if contact sensor work well.
Note: It is not necessary to push the power button while you are using
TRIALMAⅡ as this will increase the power setting or turn the device off.
TRIALMAⅡ will beep once (start beep) to tell you that skin contact is
made . The light pulse will start. Continue to hold TRIALMAⅡ in place.
23
TRIALMAⅡ will beep a second time (end beep) in a lower tone
when the light pulse completes. There may be a delay of up to a few
seconds between the start beep and the end beep before lifting the output
window. If you hear a buzzing tone instead of a second beep, you lifted the
output window off the skin before the light pulse completed. If this happens,
go over the area again.
After you hear the end beep, lift and
move the output window slightly (about
6mm). This will overlap the previous skin
area by about one-half of the output
window. Overlapping makes sure that all
of the hairs are covered.
Most users will not notice any change in the skin area for 1 to 2 weeks after
using TRIALMAⅡ. After 1-2 weeks, the hair should begin to fall out (be
'ejected' from the skin). Hair regrowth may be delayed for several weeks or
more.
You may feel burning, tingling, itching, or mild pain in the skin area while
using TRIALMAⅡ. Mild to moderate pain or discomfort is normal during
use. If you experience too much pain or discomfort, reduce the power
24
setting as needed.
If you experience more than moderate pain during use, immediately
stop using TRIALMAⅡ.More than moderate pain during use may mean
that TRIALMAⅡ is not safe for your skin.
Continue going over an area of skin until you have completely covered
it. Each time you lift and reposition TRIALMAⅡ, another light pulse will
occur. You may wish to go over the area horizontally (side to side), then go
over it again vertically(up and down), to make sure the entire area is
covered.
Try to complete about 50 light pulses in each 3cm X 3cm square area.
A complete laser hair removal session may take a few minutes to an hour or
more, depending on the size of the area you are covering. TRIALMAⅡ
takes about 11/2 minutes to emit 50 light pulses.
10.When you have finishes using TRIALMAⅡ, press the POWER button
to turn off TRIALMAⅡ. And unplug the adapter.
Repeat laser hair removal sessions regularly on each body site where
you wish to reduce the number of hairs. In safety and efficacy studies,
TRIALMAⅡ was used on the same body site every 2 to 4 weeks (3 weeks
on average). There are no known problems with more frequent use of
TRIALMAⅡ. However, since it has not been studied, it is not
25
recommended to use TRIALMAⅡ on the same body site more than once
every 2 weeks.
How to Get the Best Results
You will obtain the best results by:
Waiting at least six weeks after waxing or plucking before using
TRIALMAⅡ.TRIALMAⅡ is not effective on areas that have been
recently plucked or waxed because the hair shaft has been removed from
the follicle.
Shaving just before using TRIALMAⅡ. Shaving reduces the pain
during use and the chance of injuring your skin by removing the surface
hair.
Using the highest power setting that is comfortable. Higher power
is more effective at removing the hair.
Go over any spot where you heard a buzzing tone rather than the
'end' beep. A buzzing tone indicates the light pulse was incomplete.
Overlapping each skin area by about 6mm (50%)to ensure all
hairs are covered. It helps to make sure that all of the hairs are covered. If
26
you are overlapping fully, you should complete about 50 light pulses in
each 3cm X 3cm square area.
Using TRIALMAⅡ regularly (every 2-4 weeks).
Most users will not notice any change in the skin area for 1 to 2 weeks
after using TRIALMAⅡ.Within 1 to 2 weeks after using
TRIALMAⅡ,the hair should begin to fall out (be 'ejected' from the
skin). Hair regrowth may then be delayed for several weeks or months
following use. Hairs that regrow in the skin area may be finer and lighter.
It is normal to feel some tingling, burning, or mild pain during use. If
you experience too much discomfort, use a lower setting. Remember
that shaving just before using TRIALMAⅡ also reduces pain.
Follow-up laser hair removal sessions may be less painful, because there
will be fewer hairs to cover.
Cleaning TRIALMAⅡ
To prevent debris build up on the output window and to lower the potential
risk of infection, TRIALMAⅡ must be cleaned prior to each use.
DO NOT use TRIALMAⅡnear bathtubs, showers, basins or other
vessels containing water.
27
DO NOT submerge TRIALMAⅡ.Water or other liquids can cause
permanent damage to the device. If TRIALMAⅡ become damp or wet, do
not use it. A wet device can cause electrocution or shock.
1. Unplug the adapter from TRIALMAⅡ and the power outlet. Make sure
you turn the power off. If needed, press the POWER button to turn off
the power.
2. Clean the output window, the TRIALMAⅡ handpiece by wiping with a
moist cloth. Moisten the cloth with water, alcohol or other mild
household cleaners.
3. Allow TRIALMAⅡ to dry completely. Then reconnect TRIALMAⅡ
and adapter.

Be sure not to lift TRIALMAⅡ from the skin until you hear the end beep.
Touch skin closely with the output window.
TRIALMAⅡ device appears to be malfunctioning, broken or defective.
DO NOT use TRIALMAⅡ if the output window is cracked, chipped
29
or missing; if you see or smell smoke when the device is power on; if any
of the contact sensors are stuck or missing; if the fan is broken; the outer
shell is cracked or is coming apart; if the grill(fan vent) is cracked, coming
off or missing; if the tip(which includes the metal bezel around the output
window) overheats. Using a damaged device can cause skin injury, eye
injury, electrocution, burns, or fire. Contact Customer Service for further
instructions.
My skin tingles, burns, itches, or hurts while I am using TRIALMAⅡ.
You may feel some tingling, burning, itching, or mild pain when using this
device. Some discomfort is normal. Be sure to:
Shave the skin area before using TRIALMAⅡ. Shaving may reduce the
tingling, burning, or pain during use.
Press the POWER button to select a lower setting if necessary. Five
settings are available: Grade 1 to 5.
Note: If you use a lower setting, try a higher setting the next time you treat
the same area. The Grade5 setting produces the best hair removal.
Follow-up laser hair removal sessions done after the first session may hurt
less, because there will be fewer hairs left to cover.
If you experience more than moderate pain, you should stop using
TRIALMAⅡ.
